One of my cats, Whitey, is sick. Until last Friday, she's been very active and eating a lot until she became kind of skittish and aloof and cut back on her eating. She sleeps a lot and still drinks water but eats sporatically. I think it could be a hyperactive thyroid, I had a similar experience with another cat where she was put on meds and responded well and lived a few years afterward. My other guess is maybe bad teeth, but I point towards the former. I'm hoping it is that or at least something that is treatable. I'm just asking for prayers and well wishes as I take her to the vets tomorrow. She is 11 years old and one time when Obama came on the TV, she swatted at him and hissed. B-)
Just asking for help for my kitty since she is going to the vets tomorrow and I am worried although trying to think positive.
After going to the vet for shots, my cat stopped eating. after losing over 10% of her weight in a week, I took her back in. (She got so weak, she wouldn’t walk to her pan or food dish - I had to carry her. A steroid shot and a pill to enhance her appetite did the trick. Hope it works as well for you.
Oh, poor kitty!! So sorry.
Will think about your cat and wish her well when I feed my cat Ghosty in the morning. He’s getting old, doesn’t see so well but is sill a great companion.
Prayers up for Whitey and for you.
Prayers up for your cat.
I have never been much of a cat lover, but I have been in similar situations with my Dogs. I know how tough it is to make that ultimate decision. I hope everything works out for you.
Aw, poor kitty. Best wishes.
Will be thinking of you, NM. Hope it’s nothing serious, esp. as she sounds so politically discerning. ;-)
I hope Whitey will be OK. I said a prayer to St. Francis for you and your cat. Please keep us updated, as I know you know, we really do care!
I’m having a lot of kitty angst too these days. Among other kinds of angst!
Just love the kittys a lot, good luck tomorrow!
One good sign is that she is drinking water.
Praying for her - and for you.
Please let us know how she fares tomorrow.
God Bless!
Your kitty is in my thoughts and prayers for a positive results!
I hope this is a good sign, tomorrow is the memorial to St. Francis.

Some MSNBC twit declared Leher’s performance “criminal negligence”
Best wishes to your cat and you.
I lost my dear sweet cat Kydie earlier this year. She was my very best friend ever. I guess I'm kinda of a gruff old guy but this cat knew how to get the best out of me. We were inseparable. She developed kidney failure and the vet also suspected liver cancer. I had to have her put down so she didn't suffer. She was 24 years old.
I loved her more than any pet I've ever had. I miss her and I could never replace her. I still keep a picture of her right here at my desk and I always will. Posting this has brought tears to my eyes.
Well, there's my tribute to my long lost kitty, I sure hope yours gets better.
Prayers for Whitey’s quick and complete recovery.
From its name, my guess is that your cat is white. Two of my favorite cats were short-haired white cats. Blanco, a playful and friendly tomcat died at the age of 10 from skin cancer—a hazard for outdoor white cats in a sunny climate like Southern California. Kitty, a female owned by my brother, could sit on one’s lap and purr for hours. However, a uterine infection, which may have contributed to her docility, eventually took her life.
