Same here. A Freeper sent me links to various articles on the benefits of coconut oil, which I printed out and showed to my cardiologist. He told me that the supposed benefits of coconut oil have yet to be proven. What studies have been done are flawed or suspicious since many of the studies were done by or on behalf of manufacturers, distributors and sellers of coconut oil.

The cardiologist did say that studies by reputable entities (Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins for example) are being done, but it may take some years to get results. In the meantime, he advised me to avoid all saturated fats, including coconut oil.

I am with you! Not to make fun of the folks that use it, they may get the last laugh.

I know that Condritin and glucosomine(sp on both) have both been discredited by many studies, along with shark cartilage etc, but it is a multi million/billion dollar industry.

Jack Hanna does commercials for this product claiming it helps with bone troubles in dogs, I guess he is payed well to say it.
