Things are starting to settle down a little here.
Marissa is still keeping me busy; I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Awww, thank you, my dear Meg. I appreciate your kindness. I wish I felt like getting on more and hope things will improve. I enjoyed the cute Halloween graphics today. I have so many in my files and would like to use more of them.

I hope you are doing well as you were feeling a little bad recently.

Nikki brought Braelyn and Addyson by this evening. Braelyn was a fairy princess and Addyson was the Queen of Hearts. Their outfits were adorable. I’m glad I didn’t have any other trick or treaters tonight. I turned out the porch lights and kept it dim in my main room. Thank goodness, I don’t have many anymore. I’m getting old and grumpy...LOL!

I use to just love the whole thing. Things change, don’t they?

I Kept returning
long after my trial laden youth had ended
Something kept me there
Barrier island north of Atlantic City
South of Seaside
Friend to those who wanted their peace
and their time in the crowd
Compartmentalized

I kept returning
Family, Kid, Single Guy, and Couple
Friendly
The pilgrimage began across the Causeway
First to the home my uncles built
Then to the Lighthouse
Then to the Southern End

Watched my first sunrise there as a teenager
Bottle of wine, 12 string guitar and my first girlfriend
Ran there after stressful times
Comprehensive final exams
Trying to cope with a suicide in the hotel I worked in
Watching the sunrise again the day I put out a torch
I had carried for someone on her wedding day
The frustration with a hopeless project car
Beach fire in December
And the best father-son talk I ever had
with only a beagle as spectator

I kept returning
Sunrise again
This time saying goodbye to an uncle who died suddenly
Bringing friends, lovers, and kindred spirits
Stop on a cross country motorcycle ride
My wife's heartfelt laughter as she was felled by a wave
and many other countless memories
217 spiral steps, Country Kettle fudge, Crust and crumb bakery

Yet I kept returning
I have no vacation home there
No ties that can be seen on paper or pen
yet something binds me there
Even breaking my middle aged heart in the wake of the storm
I keep returning

ME, because it is the truth, both parties have done noting but give empty promises, low pay, long deployments, and crappy retirement with RATIONED health care.

I’ve washed diapers and fatigues in the tub when it became a choice between food and the laundry mat. Back before plastic diapers were invented.

Military always gets the SHAFT first.

Thank you Amy: Perhaps the only thing that paralells the joy I receive putting this stuff down is the inconsistency of the inspiration. Sometimes they just happen. I suppose that's why I did poorly in poetry classes. The muses talk, and you hope you can type or write fast enough to catch their whispers.
