Here in Taiwan its about 35% or greater that are having ios6 probs with their iP5s. So you are definitely not alone.
No advice or help from me - Android guy here. HTC and now Samsung remain in my desk drawer...;)
Good Luck - I thnk this will get sorted with the usual Apple rapidity.

Take it back for an exchange. It is reportedly limited to a certain subset of phones.
Alternatively, you can change your WIFi hotspot to WEP encryption, instead of WPA. But, that’s easily broken and insecure.

Only issue I had was remembering my wifi password. Are you getting the wifi symbol on the phone?

As an Android guy I can’t be of much help but it sounds like an OS bug in security for the WiFi. They will probably have a fix very soon. look for an update.

Yes, wifi icon appears. I hope i dont have to replace this phone again. Nearest apple store is in Sacramento, an hour away.

Do u think if i restored it and reinstalled my back-up data it would fix it? Or do u think its a firmware issue?

Samsung Galaxy 2S user here. No problems. My sister and brother both use the Iphone and they too are having problems, maybe its some form of software hack going around?

If anything I would do a restore and try to get hooked up to your wifi without doing the data backup.

No, it is either a hardware problem, or a firmware problem.

iOS 6 caused my wife’s iPhone 4 to copy all iMessages she send right back to her as SMS messages.
The Bluetooth is still not fixed and cannot connect to several devices and interferes with otehrs.
The voice command is still broke: “Call Wife” = “Calling 911”.
No more Apple products for me.

Try re-setting your network settings.

iOS 6 caused my wifes iPhone 4 to copy all iMessages she send right back to her as SMS messages. I have iOS 6 on my iPhone 4s and my New iPad, and both work fine. No problems with iMessages. Bluetooth works fine... and voice command is working just like it did before updating.

So? That doesn’t mean they aren’t working well.
You have LOVED Apple products from before, so maybe that is the point of your dismissive attitude to try to trivialize Apple problems.

It's the OS. I have an older iphone 3GS and I also lost my 3G after the upgrade. Reset the network and restart the phone. Worked for me.

So far, so good on my end. The Mrs. and I both have iPhone 4S and have upgraded. I’m not seeing any issues, and frankly, it doesn’t act or feel much differently at all. Maps is the biggest change, of course, and it still gets me where I’m going, and I do like the turn-by-turn navigation that was added. I haven’t run across any of the glaring bugs that other people have reported with Maps.
I do like VIP notifications, but I haven’t played around with the settings much yet, or the do not disturb feature. I need to do that soon, as I’ll be on travel.
I also upgraded the eldest child’s hand-me-down iPhone 3GS (cell service deactivated — basically being used as a somewhat bulkier iPod Touch 3rd gen, plus camera and microphone) and don’t see any problems there, either.
