Here in Taiwan its about 35% or greater that are having ios6 probs with their iP5s. So you are definitely not alone.
No advice or help from me - Android guy here. HTC and now Samsung remain in my desk drawer...;)
Good Luck - I thnk this will get sorted with the usual Apple rapidity.

Take it back for an exchange. It is reportedly limited to a certain subset of phones.
Alternatively, you can change your WIFi hotspot to WEP encryption, instead of WPA. But, that’s easily broken and insecure.

Only issue I had was remembering my wifi password. Are you getting the wifi symbol on the phone?

As an Android guy I can’t be of much help but it sounds like an OS bug in security for the WiFi. They will probably have a fix very soon. look for an update.

iOS 6 caused my wife’s iPhone 4 to copy all iMessages she send right back to her as SMS messages.
The Bluetooth is still not fixed and cannot connect to several devices and interferes with otehrs.
The voice command is still broke: “Call Wife” = “Calling 911”.
No more Apple products for me.

It's the OS. I have an older iphone 3GS and I also lost my 3G after the upgrade. Reset the network and restart the phone. Worked for me.

Updated my iPad2 and have had no major issues. ESPN app sometimes closes right after opening.

My grandsons ipod touch was funky after the update. A reboot seems to have fixed the issues.

I got mine on launch day and had a brief issue with wi fi but it was on AAPL’s authentication server side and they fixed quickly. Zero issues other than that.

I had the same issue. My iPod Touch connected fine to my wi-fi network (as it has been doing all year) but the iPhone5 would not connect.
I went to settings > general > reset
Then it took the password and all’s good. Hope the same thing works for you.
