At Milkwood Farm we love both our rocket stove water heater and our mini rocket stove, but with winter taking hold Im dreaming of new ideas, so I thought Id review what else is out there.

VYardstick intends to be one of the beggers that thinks her ridicule will force you to give her everything that you have, as though were all as thin skinned as she is.
No-Yardstick will be one of those who suck a round out of their own pistole---or uses one of your rounds to give you their guilt.

Having supplies for a few weeks is probably smart as Ive said. But the whole prepper thing really isnt about being prepared. Its about wishing to see America suffer for its sins. The mindset is similar to the environmentalist left. Theyll say its about clean air and clean water but we know that deep down its really an angry critique of free interprise. Likewise, the prepper mindset is about more than just being prepared. Its really an angry critique of wayward post-Constitutional, post-Christian America. In some ways I sympathize with it, but at the same time I know that the rage is not healthy. Prepperism is a case study in letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.
You NEED a liceense for that degree of stupidity.

I'm trying to keep up with the guys on these prepper threads. :o)
I have several ways to cook using little fuel, but this rocket stove is different as it can burn small sticks, anything one can pick up and it burns hot quickly. That is worth adding to my cooking methods - and I'll be like one of the guys. :o)

But the whole prepper thing really isnt about being prepared. Its about wishing to see America suffer for its sins. I'm not a prepper myself yet, but I have to say that, objectively, your assertion is one of the most foolish printed utterances I've read in a very long time.
Somehow, you think you have insight into the mind of the average prepper. You don't.
You should give up your silly antagonism, it really makes you look like a troll. And you're not a troll, are you?

Hard to get somewhere that doesn’t charge. I use to have my Preparedness manual on a free site, but many complained of the cookies and ads and so forth.

Too bad. Such things are miniscule in the overall benefit of such a thing.

It takes a lot of ash and what you get is KOH which makes a very soft soap.
What you want is NaOH which makes a nice hard soap. You also want a nice pure product that you can actually weigh to get the mixture of lye and fat right, otherwise you will end up with a soap that will take your skin off. Your best bet is buying it and storing it ahead of time.
