Hunger and malnutrition may kill millions of people in 20 years. The global tragedy is likely to be caused by three interrelated factors: fluctuations of food prices, extreme weather conditions and climate instabilities. The contradiction between the growing human needs and objective limits of resource become more and more serious.
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP) released another intimidating statement connected with the growth of global food prices.
"The current situation in world food markets, characterized by sharp increases in the prices on corn, wheat and soybeans generated fears of the repetition of the world food crisis of 2007-2008," the statement said.
Back then, the growing food prices led increased malnutrition in Niger, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Burkina Faso. The food crisis also led to civil unrest there. This year, the food crisis may affect the Middle East - Yemen and war-torn Syria in the first place.
The authors of the statement said that coordinated international actions may help cope with the local crisis quickly. They called for immediate action to prevent another large-scale food disaster in the coming months. Typically, the UN food departments see salvation in financial handouts to the crisis-stricken countries that give local authorities a possibility to buy foodstuffs. This is what they call "fast and coordinated international effort."

Most UN reports can be distilled as follows:
A) We have drafted a report to claim that there is a nearly insurmountable problem
B) The solution to the problem is to give us more control and
C) more “free money” form Western nations (espcially the US).
Ping.
Mmmmmmmmmm death by burger.
Seriously... are cattle really this consumptive of natural resources and are they really so awful for us? We’ve been eating beef for millenia. I’m having a hard time believing there’s an impending mass extinction event when mankind’s been consuming cow flesh since the dawn of time.
If your land won’t support your population let them die off until they reach a point that it will!!!
If I have excess food and they don’t and won’t to or can’t pay for it then damn bad, starve!!!
More doomsayers
Fortunately I have read enough prepper threads to be ready. I have cases of remaindered copies of Paul Ehrlich's Population Bomb. Eating those was the only way I was able to survive the Great Starvation of the 1980s Ehrlich predicted.
International food stamps anyone?
This burger?
The problem is....???????
Did my part yesterday. Green chili cheeseburger, Owl cafe, San Antonio, New Mexico. A perfect burger. About the future? Whatev,, every generation has it’s challenges i guess. lol
obamunism will kill faster than eating a burger will.
Cattle are walking grain silos. When there is a surplus of wheat, raise more cows and feed it to them. That way the farmer does not get an economic hit when the price for his crop drops during a surplus. The cows keep the price from extreme fluctuations.
As a side note, wheat might not be a bad investment. Its price is going way up.
I’m glad Pravda is reporting on the really important news for a change. Their UFO and Illuminati/USA stories have been done to death.
