Dear Mod,

It has been more than a week since my last letter and things haven’t really changed. Except the cat died, the dog got run over, the damage to the car was extensive, my wife ran away with the pool boy, the pool is all green now and my daughter now lives in a burkha in suburban Paris.

It certainly a lot quieter around here now, and messier but it gives a calming effect. Tranquil even. I hope your doing in Whereverstan, and that the new government led by Sheik Walid Hammerstein-Mutapha will be a benign ruler or at least a benign tumor.
