The regular refs inspire plenty of outrage, but the replacements are a complete and utter joke. Goodell is an idiot to have allowed this travesty to go on so long. The bad refs are affecting the outcomes of games, confusing players and coaches, and getting players hurt.
This never should have been allowed to happen, and it must be ended as soon as possible.
Finally, the replacements can go back to their day jobs at the Sports Authority.
You just knew after Monday night’s debacle they couldn’t let it go on much longer.
Thank you, President Obama.
Being a ref isn’t rocket science. The folks they have now simply lack experience.
“If only more people showed as much concern for our national debt as NFL referees, our country might not be as screwed as it is.” *

I hope you are being sarcastic.
Just a little. ;)
It says a lot about our country when there is more national outrage regarding football than there is about the middle east, our national debt and the appalling (real) unemployment rate.
Bumps in the road.
Do not trivialize a dogs diarrhea.
All it says is that we’re human. Human beings don’t deal with large vague concepts well. The NFL comes into our living rooms a couple of times a week for 6 months, with these well defined games and plays that fit nicely into our task oriented hunter gatherer brain. The Middle East is a spot on the map most of us have never been to populated by people we’ll never meet following a religion not ours. The national debt is a huge number and the human brain can really only conceptualize numbers up to about 50, real math people can grasp a couple hundred, everything past that the brain just says “a lot”. Same goes for the unemployment rate, millions of people is “a lot”, more millions is still “a lot”.
I can’t wait for the first blown call by the union refs (85% chance that call will benefit the Steelers or the Patriots) and the media excuse-making that will happen for their union buddies.
You read it here first.
LOL
Do the Packers get their game back?
As a Seahawks fan, I am happy amends were made for the 2006 Super Bowl prior to the resolution of the labor dispute.
Not sure if it is a done deal: From Pro Football talk:
Cold water being dashed on reports of NFL-NFLRA agreement
Posted by Darin Gantt on September 26, 2012, 1:24 PM EDT
APAs if on cue, the brake-pumping has begun.
With the first wave of reports that a deal between the NFL and locked-out officials was close, next comes the wave of reports saying Not so fast.
Sports Illustrateds Peter King just tweeted: NFLRA negotiator Scott Green has notified officials that a deal is not imminent.
That dovetails with the NFL Networks Albert Breers report this morning, which acknowledged progress but noted substantial differences on the pension issue.
Perhaps the truest words of the last hour were uttered by NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith, who also took to Twitter.
Having done this before, everyone needs to wait until the ink is dry.
Again, all signs point toward this thing being finished, and perhaps soon. Our long, national nightmare is almost over.
But as we approach the finish line, the urge to mark territory runs strong in the media, and sometimes needs to be curbed.
