Well, “NCSI” jumped the shark as far as I am concerned. While a fan of the show since it began nine years ago, I have noticed over the past few seasons how the show was inching toward a more liberal slant.

Last night, in the early part of the plot, the Secretary of the Navy placed a heavy tone on a call from ‘The President’ expressing “extreme prejudice” as the final outcome for the bomber of NCSI’s HQ. Shades of taking a subtle lap over Osama—

Then, just after that we find Tony and Ziva being rescued from the stuck elevator by Abby, who exclaims she wishes to be stuck in an elevator with Amelia Earhart or Michelle Obama—

That did it, I clicked my Tivo to delete. I shall not watch “NCSI” any more.

I will be using this thread to comment on this season's new and returns shows as I watch them either live or via Tivo.

So far, the Winners are "Major Crimes" is a worthy follow on to "The Closer." The jury is still out on "Revolution" being a regular stop. "Boardwalk Empire" stays the course being interesting and bloody. "Son of Anarchy" is a guilty pleasure that has me watching while thinking out loud 'Why am I rooting for these crooked SOBs?' "Mike and Molly" still give me a laugh.

Losers so far are "Mob Doctor" that needs to be put down quick. Last year I tried watching 'New Girl' numerous times and did not find one funny thing. Not one laugh out loud instance. I find the same situation with "Go On, Partners and 2 Broke Girls" Not funny at all and even "How I met your Mommy" lacking laugh out loud anything.

Still to come and still on the Tivo are "Vegas, Son of Anarchy, CSI, Big Bang, Two and Half Men, Elementry, Fringe, Made in Jersey and The Good Wife"

Well, I shall return with more comments as time passes by... Y'all put in your two cents.

They’ve all aged. Not buying the young eager investigator deal anymore. Watching reruns and still occasionally see ones I haven’t seen.

A while back they had one where evil Defense Contractors were conspiring to use poison gas to kill senior military leadership.

That kinda did it for me. I did watch last night and the elevator scene was over the top.

The entire show was designed to put Gibbs in the shoes of Obama and to reinforce and justify the killing of Bin Laden in the memory of the public. If it chooses to go that route, it won’t last long, since the political overlay will take away any enjoyment I had in watching the show.

I know I won’t be watching if that is the meme, or if they add other canvass threads to the story line of a similar color. That’s ok though, nothing is immune from the effort to get us to think like a bunch of worker bees in a hive.

Buzz buzz.

*snickering*..she wouldn't have survived, she would've been eaten (Bones /all) by Michelle.

Hubby and I LOVED that show. I think last season, it seemed to change overnight, as if new writers completely took over the script.

Everything that made those characters likeable was gone. It was as if new people had stepped in and took the parts from the original characters.

We haven’t watched it since. And that was the only series we watched.

The writing is poor at best now. The shows contains a lot of single lines with the camera jumping around. The old shows did well at developing each main character with good dialog. Now the shows are focused on one or two characters with choppy dialog of the rest of the team. The show has become unwatchable. Abby’s comment wishing to have a meal with Wookie Obama in the beginning was extremely cheap. Then Abby had her 40 plus face stuck in the background of too many of the dialogs. The end where they killed a criminal to protect the family was absolute bull crap. The writer was trying to invoke though but the story was so phony.

Person of Interest is the only show worth watching, period. Season 2 starts Thursday.

Ya, I saw that too... I hate it when a TV series interrupts itself with an announcement that it has a political preference, and you know, for the purpose swaying some idiot voter. Same thing happened with 24... why do these idiots like ruin a good thing. Wouldn’t be surprised if Ziva David converts to become a muzzi...

I agree. I still enjoy cathcing the reruns of
episodes I missed, but the last few seasons
have definitely taken a liberal slant.

What really irks me, though, is that my husbamd
(who is actually a long time poster on here)
thinks I see things that aren’t there, such as the
liberal slant in NCIS. He’s been pretty pissed at
me for 4 years now, for going so ballistic at obama.

He’s not a Barry fan, either, he just thinks I waste
too much time and energy on the subject.
If Barry wins again I don’t think hubby will be able
to take my anger and frustration.

I was very disappointed in the episode. Forst off, it was just too easy. The FBI, et al could never catch Deering for years... super elusive bad guy... then you get the call that they trace to a car in a parking lot. As soon as I saw the “thermal image” I expected the car to blow up... it did. The body in the car... too badly burned, but they accepted that it was him, except Gibbs... then the concluding scene... Just stupid. I sat there at the end of the episode thinking about the wasted time I just lost and feeling suckered for waiting anxiously all summer for the answers to the cliffhanger. Just a really , really bad episode.

I caught that too. Did you catch the part where the “news” is reporting that the president will not tolerate acts of terrorism...or words to that effect? I thought, “wait a minute, must be some other president. Obamashit would never call it terrorism.”

if i stopped watching everything because ui was offended by a single line or 2 i would have no media at all. yes the mo comment was annoying but we already know she is a big lib. as far as the president i honestly heard “the president” and thought “the president” not obama.
as long as it isn’t in my face and i have the freedom to turn it off and enjoy the show, i ignore some of this stuff.

I quit watching NCIS last season when Jamie Lee Curtis showed up as Gibbs’ love interest. Add in the gay agent episode, and it was enough. Why would anyone want to watch a crime show with a romance between a good lookin’ ex Marine and a person who looks like she could be his sister? Or brother? Ick.

All TV Series have a LIBERAL Slant...in some shows it is more subtle than others....in other shows it is the same as the Gays trying to shove their lifestyle into the mainstream of acceptance...People wo know the Bible will never accept this lifestyle as normal...

I think I’m done with NCIS; thank you very much… Other than being a poorly written “season opener,” (loaded up with way too many commercials for things I neither need nor want), it just didn’t grab me. Too bad the writers didn’t take the opportunity to clean up the cast…

DiNozzo is getting old. I never understood why the hell Gibbs never slapped him (hard—in front of his head for once) and tell him to grow up before he fired his silly ass. Did anybody ever really believe this immature wise-acre would ever be acceptable in any real world, close-work team environment—now I’m over it.

Ducky’s “instant autopsy” defies the imagination. Even more compelling would have been Michelle Obama in a guest role. Can’t you just see it? “This bone was broken by a medic; ergo, the man had cardiac arrest!” she exclaims demurely...

But it’s Abby, (the 40-year old Goth holdover) who iced it for me with the gratuitous remark that she’d “rather be stuck in an elevator with Michele Obama.” Gee, do you think that plug might have actually served to “get out the vote” for the “sitting” (as opposed to “working”) president? Good luck on the ride down Abby…

One of my favorite shows is the politically even-handed sitcom Parks and Recreation, starring Amy Poehler, as an eternally optimistic assistant director at the Parks department of a small town in Indiana. There's a conservative character, named Ron Swanson, who is actually billed as a libertarian. He's hilarious. All the other characters are pretty funny, too. It comes on Thursday nights at 9:30, EDT/ET on NBC.

Tomorrow night, I look forward to the return of Fringe.

It should be noted that Dearing’s Southern heritage was mentioned yet again in this episode. I guess we Bitter Clingers south of the Mason Dixon line are perceived as a threat.
