There was a strange bright object handing in the sky over Albuquerque on Saturday evening, around 7:00pm. The VERY quickly disseminated story was that it was a high altitude weather balloon. It was stationary for the over 15 minutes I watched it. Since they test all sorts of stuff out here I thought the story was a little fishy. Do weather balloon hang motionless in the sky for long periods of time?
Bwahahahaha ... that’s the best one of the thread!
When I was four or five (’59 - ‘60) I saw a huge Navy battleship escorted by a number of fighter jets fly over Denver. I’m not making that up and I remember it vividly.
It’s the new iPhone 5... Those things are incredible...
It was swamp gas reflecting light from the planet Venus. Oh wait...we don’t have swamps here in Albuquerque.
Seriously, i say it was a weather balloon. This time around.
Then there must be loads and loads of high definition, high quality photos and video.
Actually a bunch of people did post stuff on YouTube.
Did seem kinda weird that folds on the radio were almost immediately (while it was going on) telling us that it was only a weather balloon.
Here in New Mexico there is a lot of testing of vehicles that aren’t, let’s say, fully unclassified. Sometimes these tests don’t go as planned and the damage control folks appear telling us “nothing to see here, move along, move along...”
This felt like one of those times.
