SANFORD - Prosecutors in the George Zimmerman case suggest defense attorney Mark O'Mara is trying to "chum the waters" by digging up Trayvon Martin's school disciplinary records.
In a new pleading, they ask the judge to seal whatever those records show and in the future to keep O'Mara's subpoenas a secret.
O'Mara is entitled to go on a fishing expedition to find out about Trayvon's past, according to court paperwork filed Wednesday by Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda, but "he is not allowed to chum the waters and then, by innuendo or otherwise, to publish irrelevant items (such as the aforementioned subpoenas) to the media in an attempt to influence public perception or otherwise curry favor with potential jurors."

He accused O'Mara of using his law firm's website to publicize the subpoena and implied O'Mara was trying to damage Trayvon's reputation.

Zimmerman’s credibility is the key to his defense. He lacks credibility yet pointing out specifics is a 'no-no' here where his supporters take his word as gospel.

In 2005, Zimmerman was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. Contemporaneous accounts indicate he shoved an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking at an Orange County bar. It was a first offense, and Zimmerman got off with a pretrial anger management diversion program.

Actually no -- the forensic evidence, the witnesses, the autopsy, the photographs, the police investigations, the medical reports are all key to his defense and they speak for themselves and all agree with his statements already given under oath.

Considering that they both had restraining orders against each other, if I’m not mistaken, it was likely a he said she said situation.

It was unacceptable. I sent private PM's to Admin and Sidebar, Sidebar reviewed the thread and said it was wrong. I had been, as is usual by wtc911, accused of racism baselessly, and wtc911 would not defend his claims when challenged. He's a race troll. He just puts out the charge and takes some sort of perverse glee in your reaction. It took me a bit, but I have him sussed now.

I am not one of them. I know naked racism when I see it and I called it out. You didn't write the post but you defended the post. Fine, but when you jump in that mud puddle some of it will stick to you.
The standards that Jim set for FR include "no racism". If that has changed then I think it's up to Jim to make the announcement.
The rules also include no personal attacks but I guess "bitch" and "moron" don't count since you feel free to use them against me. That doesn't bother me and it's fine with me if you keep it up as you stalk me from thread to thread but it does kind of break the rules that you are so anal about.
As for your pronounced intention to stalk me from thread to thread - keep right on doing it --- but be careful, it could prove addictive and you want to be careful about that.
JR, apologies for taking your time but laz chose to pull you in. Lots of long time freepers have objected openly and in back channel about the rise in racism on the forum, usually over the Zimmerman/Martin thing. Some of it is just ugly (as in this case). It is as though some folks want to give ammunition to those who declare FR a hate site.
When I see it I attack it, as in this case.
It is obvious that some freepers want a free hand to post what they want and so label any voice opposing the racism as a troll. Based on the like-minded crew that Laz has developed by following me around and posting the same "ignore him - he's nothing but a race baiting troll" post, but there are not many of them and their insults don't bother me.
Finally, do you want your forum to be a place where posts like ----
