1. Anyone want to make a guess what is the medallions significance?
2. Who is the black woman at the end?
Unknown my a$$! It was the DEMOCRATS!...............
NBC? Nothing But Communists?
Sorry, I’ll miss that one.
Tired of post-apocalyptic, vampire and “new normal” (read: homosexual) shows. Think I’ll stick with Turner Classic Movies.
That's easy. She is the founder of the Dharma Initiative.
S M Stirling has had a long running series of novels based on this idea.
the big question I have is whether the power went off due to an EMP or something else. Obviously the results look like an EMP, but there is no indication that it was a weapon, so the door is open for something else.
Should be a fun ride. I’m a big fan of JJ Abrams.
Bad Robot.

Do you remember Jericho? The black woman at the end is the black man from Jericho: the secret agent working for the Cheney-esque man who destroyed the world for his own gain. She is the teaser to warn us that there is a fully-functioning world that is being withheld from the masses by people with an evil profit motive.
The medallion is the key to turning off the machinery that.... does something that defies physics by turning off all electricity but allowing nerve impulses and lightning to still work. And just when you are about to suspend disbelief over this, they show you an old MSDOS PC and electric light in an attic that is working.
This show has so many plot holes that its just ridiculous. Its set in a primitive world where the beautiful people have perfect teeth, wonderful hair, toned bodies, and nice leather clothing. They shoot high-tech crossbows that require aluminum bolts that never get lost or broken and even the strings are still in perfect shape after 15 years.
I thought it was lame.
Those folks sure do dress well to have been without power and most of life’s conveniences for 15 years. Pure style.
Where did all the water come from? How does losing electricity cause churches to be submerged?
We’re supposed to believe that one retired middle-aged soldier with nothing but a sword defeats a batallion with his only help a teenage girl and a shapely blonde (of course) woman with an accent.
Do these people ever eat? Plenty of alcohol.
I’m all in for a good sci-fi story, and LOST hooked me, but the jury is out on this one and not feeling very friendly.
All I know is that it is another alternate world where the Cubs can’t win the World Series.
On the back of the medallion these words are printed in code:
“It’s Bush’s Fault.”
The premise seems too farfetched for me.
After fifteen years, the population were too stupid to figure out how to develop things?

I watched Lost for a couple of seasons, but it got worse as it went on. Recall the tall waving grass that waved for several episodes, only to find a polar bear cub causing it. But hey, if one polar bear in the tropics is good, why not two???

Many of these shows start out sort of okay, but either the writers run out of ideas or they just get lazy.

RE: Lost. The guy who played the young doctor was on one of the talkshows. He said the episodes in the first season seemed ‘thrown together’ because they were. They [writers and actors] didn’t expect Lost to get past 4 episodes, so, when it turned out to be a hit, they were in panic mode to develop the plot and more episodes.
I know what I thought when I saw it.
Medallion:
Black Stone of Kabah:
Missed it, but it looks like they are replaying it on Wednesday.
I tried to watch this show, but the actors were dressed for New York Fashion Week.
Apparently Cosmetic Dentistry doesn’t require electricity.
Also, good to see that Proactiv skin care products can be distributed so widely without infomercials and FedEx.
Looks like a Hunger Games rip-off, and of course nowadays only females can be heroes.
The odd thing about all these throw back shows, is how we never get thrown back to the reality of men being the overwhelmingly dominate sex.
Watched the preview last week. Sure, you have to suspend belief...much like a Jay Carney press conference. But at least this is only TV!!
I am a fan of J.J. Abrams, so I will watch at least another episode or two and see how it shapes up.
I also tried to watch the new Fox offering “Mob Doctor” last night. Stupid premise, bad acting and generally dull. Turned it off after ten minutes.
15 years, and no steam technology replacing what was lost?
Only the bad guy has a semi-automatic weapon, and apparently revolver technology has been lost, too?
Everyone in central Illinois decided that after this event gun control by a benevolent tyrant was OK?
The chick does look like she just stepped off the Hunger games set.
I’ll probably catch it if I’m flipping channels and land on it by happen stance, or when it hits net-flix instant watch. Until that time, it’s not on the calendar.
