My son graduated ND last year, so I've been watching lots of Notre Dame football, and I think that's the best performance they've had since Brian Kelly became coach. Now we'll see if they can handle Michigan at home. :)

Texas puts up 66 on an SEC school and nobody notices yet Alabama clobbers a team that lost the week before to a Sunbelt school and everybody drools.

One of the computer polls has Oregon St. #1 and Arizona #2.

Call me unimpressed.

tu faces Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl on Oct 13, and then plays TCU in November...so the Longhorns will be tested eventually.

There's West Virginia even before that so the first real test comes in two weeks. Meanwhile aTm and Mizzou are looking less like SEC competition than UL-Monroe has.

Looks like ND is getting ready to take their seat at the conference table when they need to in the future with the ACC. Special ND rules for bowls are going to bite the dust in the next few years.

The real USC’s ( Cal ) coach was the one who labeled the fans of the other USC ( SC ) “gas pumpers.” Plus he has a hawt wife.

Coach Steve Superior is now 58-35-0 at SC, 7 wins away from being the coach with the most wins in their history. He's also 3 losses away from being the coach with the 3rd most losses in their history, passing Lou Holtz who is 33-37-0. Rex Enright is 64-69-7 and has the most wins and loses. 2nd most loses goes to Paul Dietzel at 42-53-1.

Seems to me that a few years back, an undefeated Auburn team did not get the nod for the big game.

That was caused by the fact that Auburn started WAY down in the polls and the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the preseason (USC and Oklahoma) never lost a game that season. That season was a good reason why a Plus One four-team playoff had to be implemented.

Wouldn't Louisiana be considered the deep south?
