Two touchdown and two field goals isn’t crushing anyone. One quality win. They beat Navy and Purdue. Please. You should have heard Musberger. He has them going into Norman Oklahoma undefeated.
I guess Brent is going full Beano Cook. :)
You say that like Purdue is a nonentity. They’re a solid team and should be competitive in the Big 10 this year. Not BCS caliber, most likely, but a good team, and played ND tight in South Bend.
The “Other USC” should be the one in Los Angeles, the real USC is coached by Steve Spurrier.
I now think Florida has a real shot at beating LSU. Hard to believe it’s the same team that struggled against Bowling Green a few weeks ago.
Nice win for the Gators at Rocky Top.
Eight in a row....always fun to win in Knoxville and see the sad expressions on the hillbillies’ faces.
There is NO way that they'd pick them to play again...
Absolutely true. My son graduated ND last year, so I've been watching lots of Notre Dame football, and I think that's the best performance they've had since Brian Kelly became coach.
Now we'll see if they can handle Michigan at home. :)
I wish it were so, but objectively, can’t see it. It’s good that Will finally decided on a QB...the kids looks great, but I suspect that the rest of the season will show not that Florida was really good yesterday, rather that the Vols were waaay overrated...
One thing they do need to work on is short yardage situations....they cannot do against LSU what they did at the end of the half against UT, failing to score several times from the 2 yard-line.
LSU plays 5 no-bodies and then plays 4 straight top 10 contenders in a row.
Bizarre schedule.
Florida’s schedule is really weird, they only play one more game out of the State of Florida this year, at Vandy.
And they close their season with three non-conference games.
Looks like the game against FSU will be meaningful once gain.
FSU has been impressive, but let’s see what happens when they play a real team, unfortunately, not many real teams in the ACC this year.
LSU is getting a lot of playing time for younger players right now. Much of the defense in the Idaho game at the start would normally have been on the bench. It is also working out well for them to experience what it means to have a quarterback. This is new for them.
If you mention, USC in any part of the country other than the deep south, 9 out of 10 people will assume you are talking about the Trojans and not the Gamecocks. This is probably proper, as well, since on almost any measurable academic or athletic standard, University of Southern California > University of South Carolina and usually by a wide margin.
ND is on the way back. However, without a conference attachment, they could go 12-0 and not play for the title. Not to mention that the schedule strength is diminished when you play the service academies.
Seems to me that a few years back, an undefeated Auburn team did not get the nod for the big game.
I’m from Louisiana and USC to me was always the Gamecocks.
