I have noticed that there is a SEVERE lack of "Presidential" campaign signs in my area. NOTHING like it was in 2008. I mean......I don't even see bumper stickers of support for either candidate.
When I drive through the Black neighborhoods to picks up my kids.....nothing. No Obama signs.
Other parts of town......nothing.
Not even bumper stickers.
I think people are TRULY afraid. This is TRULY CREEPY!
There is a great family around the corner, bless their hearts, who have a sign that says "Vote Like Your Freedoms Depend On It". And I smile every time I pass it.......but NOTHING else.
I think people are afraid. Afraid to voice their opinion because of retaliation.
I NEVER thought we would become a country like this. But, here we are.

I wish that I knew. There are none so blind as those that will not see. Although there wouldn't be so many “Republican” wars if the Dhimmicrats would just take care of business when they were in charge.
Hope you win your bet and rub it in for the next 4 years :)
In Los Angeles area, I have see 1 Romney bumper sticker, 1 lawn sign, and numerous obama stickers.
FYI, last time around, day AFTER election tons of of obama stickers, then slowly dwindled away except for a ton of prius’ around still have 2008 obama stickers.
I saw a couple of Romney bumper stickers in Ohio last week.
One I liked.
Stimulate the Economy
Fire Obama
I’ve got a Romney sticker but it’s not on the car. Don’t want my car keyed.
I have only seen one Obama sign, and that one said “Obama Sucks”.
People are not posting political thoughts anymore. This is very noticable on Facebook and other forums. The administration’s capability to find out who made the comments without a court order has really shut down this area.
And Facebook has become extremely boring as a result.
A lot of people also feel that because 99.99% of HR people are left wing (I’m a People Person!) that it is unwise to post anything that could be used to destroy their career or to keep them from getting a job. And unkind comments about the current administration could be just that as the left wing has become incredibly vicious.
Just an observation.
In suburban and rural VA, I see very few 0bama signs, but a steadily growing number of R0mney signs.
In suburban and rural VA, I see very few 0bama signs, but a steadily growing number of R0mney signs. R0mney:0bama at least 5:1.
Here in NW Travis county about 35 miles from Austin, there are plenty of R/R stickers and yard signs. I’ve seen two 0 bummer stickers and both had a COEXIST sticker as well.
There was a Republican meeting here last week, and I noticed several people who had dim yard signs during the 2008 election season. They took R/R yard signs.
An aside. Our mailbox seems to attract political fliers of all types. So far, not *one* had the party affiliation [[Dem/Repub] printed on them. I find that curious, as well as your observation, about the prez race. No lawn signs so far, few, if any, bumper stickers.
They are mostly Stupid, White, Feeling Guilty Johnson County types.
and old people.
I don't understand it.
Back in '08 we had vandalism on signs and peoples houses/cars.
Can you say "Political division begets civil strife"?
I knew you could.
I walk many miles every day, a drop of milk in a cup of coffee. No campaign signs.
I haven’t even heard a black person say Obama’s name, in many months.
Ah. Yes. I lived there until I was 18, then left for the Navy. KC has always had racial issues. And JC has a whole bunch of these 'culturally enlightened' types who prove it by embracing all the diversity they can choke down. The rest of the state though, pretty Red. Lawrence and Pittsburgh, notwithstanding, for obvious reasons.
Now? Washington State. Which is why it's so rewarding to see the Obama signs disappear.
I'm actually across the sound from Seattle, Conservatives have the edge population wise around here.
Why should I keep up with what liberals are saying about him, or anybody? That's not any better than news gossip about celebrities.
Take a look at the things he's done: Romneycare, implementing homosexual marriage, judicial appointments, implementing weapons bans. And that's only what my admittedly cursory knowledge on the man's actions reveals: I'm certain there's much more than that. (In fact, you could ask the people from his state, if you know where to find that ping list or message board.)
>>That’s exactly right, and I plead guilty, but would this guy worry about getting his car keyed?
You’re right he had other things to be worried about - like death threats.
And now, he’s dead.
coincidence? I think not.
As for Johnson country, sure they embrace all sorts of diverse cultures and preach the Liberal Gospel.
But they are tightfisted when it comes to taxes. They like keeping THEIR money.
How is Washington State? I hear if you cut Seattle off Spokane is pretty darn Conservative. Our tagline could be
The Kansas City Metro Area: Is YOUR City as Balkanzied yet?
The country is as divided right now as it was in the 1850’s. The only thing preventing us from going to the “shooting stage” is the apathy caused by modern entertainment and convenience.
Its a good idea NOT to identify yourself to anyone who might find it convenient to retaliate against your politics.
Seattle is a lost cause. The University is there, and tons of California transplants. I refuse to cross the sound unless it’s mandatory.
Eastern Wa is as red as you get. Lots of farm land out that way.
Most of western Wa is quite Conservative as well, old Loggers, Fisherman and such.
Exactly, which is why the current polls that hugely oversample Democrats based upon past advantages in registration are HUGELY out of whack. IMHO Romney wins in a landslide.
Washington state is the story of practically every state in the Union, the Big Cities hand the state over to the Democrats when the Majority of the State is Red.
That is why Thomas Jefferson despised cities and wanted a Nation of independent Citizenry. Who made their own food/leather etc etc, and would be resistant to taxes to take away the fruits of their labor.
