I wasn’t paying attention at the time. Somebody, what did he mean by “legitimate rape”?

I recall reading somewheres that the judge that would have to rule on Akin's petition, if he were in fact to make one to have himslef removed from the ballot, is a reliable democrat hack.

Anyone know?

He misspoke and corrected himself, no big deal.

I am thinking we might have time to replace Romney on the ballot now that he has flip flopped on repealing Obamacare.

Interesting. So now the Obama media is the only place still calling for his removal.

It seems to me that he was elected and should not be replaced without having committed some sort of crime or action involving moral turpitude. He made a statement that he thought was scientifically-based, and when it turned out not to be the case he apologized within a day. As far as I am concerned, case closed.

Forget Akin. He could be behind by 40 pts, but his hardheadedness prevents him from doing the right thing and dropping from the race. The realistic window of opportunity has closed anyway, 25 Sept deadline or no, so he may as well go through the motions.

When we finally dump the GOP and start our own Conservative Party, it will have a clearly defined mechanism for expelling people.

Sounds as though the Washington Post is trying to stir up problems within the Republican ranks. Akin's comments, for which he has apologized, are at most only a very, very marginal issue, if properly handled by his campaign--that is, by reciting that it has nothing whatever to do with anything on which he will be voting as a United States Senator during the next six years.

Nothing could be stupider than for Republicans to take the bait and continue the insulting demands that the Primary winner withdraw, because of such exaggerated concerns.

As for Karl Rove--a demonstrable "dysron" who has been keeping this going? See "Dysron," Quack Or Mole?

Look, I do not even pretend to know where Akin stands on the actual issues. I do know how it looks to independent minded voters, when a political party tries to bully its own members, in a form of pseudo-pragmatism. You want to know what is hurting the Party? Keeping this hysteria going. Let the Democrats try to keep it going, if we stop helping them. The issue rapidly evaporates.

I hope the GOP learns a lesson here and stops immediately giving in to the liberals when their minions in the media score a point by talking one of our guys into a corner

And I hope our guys start to pay attention and STAY OFF THE LIBERAL MEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reince Prebus should very publicly - preferably IN HIS DISTRICT - say he jumped the gun on Akin and should never have allowed the liberals to dictate to our side. After all- SAID just said something stupid about abortion whereas McCaskill SUPPORTS baby murder- even when a child survives an abortion she wants to kill it.
