Help!

My facebook page is lighting up with my crazy lib friends all over Paul Ryan on his marathon run time. Can someone help me with an argument. What happened here?

"During the brief time I had a facebook page, a bunch of my old high school acquaintences who had come out as homosexuals in the last 35 years put all kinds of homosexual marriage material on my wall. Removing it would have caused a nasty confrontation"

With all respect: as long as conservatives/Christians allow sodomites to infringe upon us and others by trumpeting their perversion because we are afraid of a confrontation, the culture will continue to degrade.

I am now in my mid 60s and I have noticed some things about guys my age.

One is that every single one of them played high school football.

Two, is every one of them ran a remarkably fast 100 yards.

Three, is they all could bench press their weight and a lot more usually.

Unchecked libertarianism, like liberalism ... is a mental disorder.

Post a shrink's phone number and cancel your urge to have a facebook life.

I understand your point. If I had liked facebook, I might have stayed and removed them. But I didn't like it. It made me unhappy and sometimes even sick to my stomach.

I learned that most times, the people who you've "lost touch with" have taken a path so unlike yours that there's a good reason for having lost touch with them.

One of the out-of-the-closet homsexuals was someone I had liked very much when I was young; it was a wrenching shock to discover what had happened to her.

I just didn't need it. I've got enough headaches in my life already.

I assure you a confrontation would have accomplished absolutely nothing. Not one heart would have been changed.

I did a half marathon in 1:48 while training in perfect conditions, but my best official time in a race is 1:57. I consider the 1:48 as my personal best. A sub 3 hour marathon is a tough feat but not impossible, especially for a gym rat like Ryan.

The opposite for me. Prior to my first marathon my longest training run was 15 miles, untimed but comfortable. Timed in at 3:22:15 (or was it 3:15:22? I have to look it up now!) in the race. My best half timed in training was 1:32, but my best race was 1:20:02. Of course, I was just a kid of 39 then...

My fastest marathon (2:48:45) was also my easiest; just felt good the whole way but stuck to my planned pace to break 2:50 (Boston qualifying standard then) instead of picking it up the last 3 or 4 miles.

Point out how this is but the latest distraction created by the left to divert attention from Obama’s failure as a president. Also point out how petty and weak they are for being a part of it.

Unfortunately one thing which seems to be eternal is your marathon time. Try looking for someone online who has ever run in marathons. You will turn up endless page after page of results, gong back years.

What’s awe-inducing about Palin’s feat is that she accomplished it at 41 after having four children, while Ryan’s mark was set at 20 and Edwards’ best came at 30. There are only about 40 thousand women who were that fast or faster in 2011. (More comparisons: The average marathon time for a woman aged 40-44 in 2011 was 4:47:34. The average for a man aged 20-24 was 4:22:48.)

A lot had to do with the weather. I have never run an official half in under 80 degrees. Makes a huge difference, almost 10 minutes, to my training PR in 60 degree air. I quit running that kind of distance. I decided at some point that this intense cardio workouts are best on your heart to limit to an hour so I am sticking with 10k at this point.

Only us (former) marathoners, probably. We know, appreciate and respect the work required to prepare for it, and the perseverance to finish, especially to finish well.

That's the thing right there - if you were a very active runner, or still are one, you tend to remember your times, especially the good ones. For examply, I ran a 5K yesterday in 25:53, 44 seconds faster than my previous 5K. I'll remember it for a while, but I keep track of these things. It's a hobby that interests me.

Had I run a one-off Marathon 20+ years ago and pretty-much avoided competitive running since, I would probably not answer correctly if someone asked me about my time.

Frankly, this is all irrelevent - it's the economy that matters. In fact, when the libs ask about this issue, just tell them "It's the economy, stupid".

Look them in the eye and ask”which is worse, misjudging time in a marathon, or lying about where you were born?

I believe that most marathon races have websites with the times posted. You can tell them that you can probably go check the official record, but tell them that Ryan has spent a few million dollars to have the race records sealed.

What are you? That's "racist", I mean "racer" of you! < /sarc >

um, it was 20 years ago, and since then he has raised a family, run for office, and taken on Leviathan - marathon time is probably the least of his worries.

BTW, what was Obama’s time for a marathon? Thought so...;)
