It is stunning to me how many people don’t recall recent history and what happened economically during the Clinton administration. (I like to call him the ‘Toon).
Like 0bummer, the ‘Toon attempted to increase taxes sharply, regulate everything and install gobberment run healthcare. Two years in the “Republican Revolution” occurred and Newt Gingrich came in with the “Contract With America”. The ‘Toon clearly saw the American people had spoken and he knew for his own political survival he would have to work with the new Congress to change things. He used a lot of Gingrich and Contract ideas and this allowed the economy to grow and greatly decreased the federal deficit.
The same thing happened under 0bummer, except instead of working with the new Congress he doubled down on his socialist ideas. The result has been the highest deficits in history, slower GDP growth than 80% of the countries in the world, and the highest unemployment since the Great Depression.
Now, hoping we don’t know these obvious facts he has ASKED THE ‘TOON to deliver the keynote at the DNC convention next month!
If it wasn’t so sad to see the country suffer like this, it would almost be hilarious!
The idea of the ‘Toon taking credit for economic growth due to the conservative policies forced upon him by Congress is of course ludicrous.
It was also Clintoon’s administration that started the housing collapse, with the “everyone should have a house” crapola. Way to go libtards. Everything they touch turns to poop.
We are at war with Oceania, we have ALWAYS been at war with Oceania.
That is what the Media tells me what happened anyway, I am just an uninformed American voter, not paying attention at all.
The smartest thing Clinton did was to keep Alan Greenspan — a pro-capitalist Ayn Rand associate — on as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.
And our culture has continued to plummet from that point and here we are.
And the MSM has done all they can to sustain this idea.
Mr Clintoon sure had the goods on us. He knew how far the right would push things, what we would do when we got some of the power back (1994) and how far we would go to defend our wins (not a lot). He pushed our buttons and won. His wife didn’t.
While he may be a speaker for the ticket, it does not mean that he is behind it. In 2008, the speech he gave was pure rote. Now mind you, his rote is better than a lot of people’s barn burning best. But it was not his best and most who have lived a certain number of years knew it. This year mr clinton has even less to lose. His speech might be interesting.
A couple of points to go with your post... First, growth was anemic in 93 thanks to Clinton’s tax rates... growth didn’t really show up until after 1994 GOP sweep. And tax revenues were poor until cap gains rates were lowered and then the revenues soared like crazy...
Clinton’s tax rate increases were effective Jan. 1, 1993, So Hillary took her Rose law firm bonus in 1992 to avoid the tax hit.

Usually, you pkan your tax strategies for the rulex in place bu, when some one comes in and sfarts acting lime the banker in crooked Monopoly game you get screwed by the guy who is cheating you.
