The problem is semantics, legitimate rape versus brutal rape. Yes all rapes can be described as brutal however I am refering to a rape that triggers drastic hormone response.
Without getting too far into details is it posdible for a victim of a brutal rape to get pregnant? YES! However it may not be probable.
Akin knows more about his state than I do. If it were me I would step down but he may know something I don’t.

All of you on this board, that support Akin, need to get together, pool your resources, and run an ad stating that a lot of rape cases are not legitimate and these women are trying to get an abortion by claiming falsely to have been raped.

There is such a thing as false rape too, and that was his point.
He was correct, the cortisol release during extreme stress can and often does shut down the reproductive process. That is a biological fact.

My remark was to your comment about McCaskill doing cartwheels. Do you think it's possible that she was also doing doing cartwheels when Ryan was announced?

McCaskill does not want her prize toy withdrawing before Sept 25. So she will spend part of her 12 million dollar war chest
with positive ads about herself before that date without attacking him. She would not want to get too far ahead of him before that date for fear he will withdraw.Come September 25 and he cannot withdraw she will unload on him with every one of her ads ending in 2 words “legitimate rape”.
