@nbcnightlynews : MT @chucktodd: Romney now officially calls on Akin to exit the race. He had been implying that, but hadn't directly said it. Now, he has

Smart move. Everyone in the republican side must get as much distance from him as possible.
And this was the guy the democrats were supposed to have funded in the primaries?
Something is way rotten here.
Good for Romney.
Good.
FU MR! God Bless you Patriotic Conservative Akin. Stay in the race and fight for the conservative principles you have and for God’s sake don’t listen to a jerk like Romney. He couldn’t be more liberal if he tried.
You know, I’m not defending Akin, but Romney is really lowering himself getting involved with this local drivel.
Akin is radioactive. He has to swallow the pride and for the good of the nation step away.
Well according to Missouri law, he’s got 36 minutes, as of this post....
This race can swing the Senate either way. It transcends "local."
He has no choice. He is going to be asked about it multiple times anyway. As will every other GOP candidate on the slate.
Why is Romney lowering himself to speak on this issue that Missouri needs to hash out?
More like 90 minutes, they are on central time

Plus, it behooves Romney to make a clear stance that he does not support Akin, and by default, support his erroneous speech that evidently is reflective of his thinking patterns.
This is not a local drivel. Control of the senate is at stake. We are talking here about the repeal of Obamacare, the appointment SCOTUS justices, etc..
Akin won’t make it. He’ll be gone soon.
Good! In fact, excellent!
Obama just released an e-mail blast today depicting Akins as typifying the GOP. Yes, I know Akins didn’t mean it “that way,”but he gave the Dems a big sound bite and this has got to be combatted now, especially since he’s got such such a swollen ego that he’s willing to take the whole Senate and GOP down with him.
Waiting for the foaming at the mouth “Romney’s a f***ing liberal traitor!” crowd to chime in...5...4...3...2...1...
Ignition!
central time, remember?
6:pm ET
I heard Aikin on Huckabee. That boy ain’t backing out.
No way, no how. He is a True Believer (in himself).
