I don't feel like talking about Chairman Obama's plots, Nazi Pelosi's plastic surgery mistakes, Harry Reid's dementia, or the fact that we're on the edge of total economic, social, and political disaster. (In other words, let's pretend Ronald Reagan is still president, at least for this thread.)
Anyhoo, let's let our hair down! Let's chit-chat about music. So tell me, FRiends, what are your favorite types of music, your favorite songs, or favorite songs ?

I saw Kenny Chesney, Tim Mcgraw, Grace Potter and some other guy last night.
Gotta love the Stones....among my favorites as well.
I love Classical (of course) before the 20th century, Blues, Jazz (not Fusion), Elizabethan Plainsong and authentic Gypsy music.
I like other Medieval as well.
Actually I like any music that written by someone who knew how to write music and is being played by musicians who give a da^%.
If it’s Blues, I want to hear the best Blues musucian there is... if it’s Classical, I don’t want to hear some schlock orchestra ruining the Beethoven 5th Symphony or something..etc.
My favorite type of music is punk rock. (Nope. Never grew up.) My favorite song of all time is California Uber Alles by the Dead Kennedys. I also like some hip-hop, mostly Cypress Hill. I also like some classic rock, like Shattered by the Rolling Stones, 1979 by the Smashing Pumpkins, and The Wall by Pink Floyd.
Needless to say, when Im in the car with Mrs. Absolutely Nobama, Im not allowed to even look at the radio, let alone play music. I am fully aware that I have no taste in music whatsoever. :)
I use their songs to teach rhythm guitar, since Keef is the best rhythm guitarist in Rock...JMHO.
I’ve been really liking Joe Bonamassa after I saw him do a concert on Palladia channel.
Never got into Country, but this seems interesting.
Black Flag!!!! Yes!!!! Great song to check out by them is “Scream” on the Rat Music for Rat Music album (vol.1)!
Nothing beats old school punk, in my opinion!
San Lorenzo - Pat Metheny Group

Pat and Lyle are two of the most amazing musicians I’ve ever seen....I hope soon they will get back together and do some new stuff.
I’ve been a Metheny fan for years, but the early stuff is still the best.
Rush sucks, Pink Floyd sucks, Boston sucks, Chicago sucks big time, Deep Purple sucks, Genesis sucks, Journey sucks, Pat Benatar sucks, all of 70s “art” rock sucks.
Malcolm Holcombe and Tony Joe WHITE rule!
>>Tchaikovsky Overture 1812
I’ve got several different recordings of that. You gotta love a guy who thought to use a cannon as a musical instrument!
I’m with you, the Mongolians make some beautiful music.
LOL!!!
I love sprited music debate!

He also plays a pretty mean “Pink Panther Theme!”
Sorry, I forgot to add Eilen Jewell and Martin England to those who rule!
“You gotta love a guy who thought to use a cannon as a musical instrument!”
That’s a rog!

Love that one. About a dozen of the 437k-odd views on that one are mine. :)
“Actually I like any music that written by someone who knew how to write music and is being played by musicians who give a da^%.”
Amen.
My wife gave me a Dropkick Murphys CD for Hanukkah. It remains in its original plastic, outta sight, outta mind. I’m a big punk rock fan, and I know if it was made before 1985, odds are it’s gonna stink. No sense in even remotely trying.
