Why isn't the press talking about the out-of-control food prices? Do they not actually go to the grocery store? Do they have so much money, they aren't impacted by the upward-spiraling prices? Do they just scan their debit card and never really pay attention to what something costs? I truly don't get it!

The only lame reports I do hear, usually say something like "food prices increased one and a half percent last year"! Say what? I'd be willing to bet prices are increasing more than 10% A MONTH! Yesterday, I was shopping for a pot roast. A medium size chuck roast cost $18.47! Good grief! I can't be the only one who is astounded at this. Peanut butter costs over $4 a jar. Jelly is just about as bad. I find myself having to buy hamburger or chicken (fish is outrageous!) and I still pay about double what I paid 3 years ago.

Come on Fox (or anyone) - all you have to do is go to a local grocery store and interview the people at the meat counter, the peanut butter aisle or in the check out line! How hard would it be to examine the actual "buying power" of the average family income, now compared to when good-ol George was president?

What do you think the average housewife is more concerned about - food prices or making the Catholic church pay for abortifacients for its workers?

One of my grocery stores changed out their metal slatted carts with ones that are plastic with quarter-sized openings, rather than slats, in the basket area.

That was probably because — with so much product shrinkage — too many items kept slipping through the slats and falling onto the floor.

:)

[I detest product shrinkage. Just raise the price. I would rather pay more for products I use than get less for the same price.]

This is just one more topic (hyper-inflation) that the MSM has declared off limits. Should Romney win it will become a major topic for tv and press reports. Count on it.

Inflation rate does not count food or fuel. I say BS!

Self Serving Bastards should be hung.

Blame high fuel costs.

But, don’t overlook the Dems and Eviro-whackos KILLING of some of the most fertile farmland in America.

The population control crowd also happen to be anti-capitalist, anti-industry, socialists, who don’t want America to be feeding, and developing the 3rd world.

They’re the same ones that banned DDT, when they learned how many millions of lives were being saved in the 3rd world. (Nat’l Geographic, July 2007)

Obama and minions busily scream, holler and point - “LOOK OVER THERE INSTEAD OF OVER HERE!!” - in order to divert the attention of the gullible away from the REAL PROBLEMS Obama’s created since he’s been in office. - Dear God! Please deliver us from this horror!!

Food is free, didn't you know that? Obamas peeps don't have to pay for prime rib, you buy it for them.

Why should they care what you pay.

Wait until HR2751 (FDA food Takeover Bill) is fully implemented.

And wait until the drought in the midwest is over and they start rebuilding cattle herds. Cattle prices recently dropped because of another herd sell off because of drought.

You haven’t seen anything yet.

We are retired Military and the Navy Commissary...and their prices are on par or slightly higher than Kroger’s which is the large food store for our area. Only difference is instead of a 9.75% sales tax, there is a 5% restock fee for the Commissary. BUT unlike Kroger’s which doubles my coupons up to .60, the Commissary takes them at face value. With Kroger’s if I spend a $100 a month I get 10 cents off on gas to boot and that goes up by 10 cents for every $100 I spend. I shop Kroger’s 95% of the time. Commissary has better quality meat.

Exchange prices are geared to to Top Brass’s pockets, not the common enlisted persons. $200 for a stinking Vera cloth wallet, made in china for a $1.

I fully believe Romney would win an additional 10 to 20 percent of the vote if he would stand outside grocery stores with a jar of peanut butter, a pound of fish and three tomatoes (or arugula :-!), leaving a visible price tag on each. Simply ask regular, everyday housewives how they feed their family with prices so high. What are they having to do without to put food on the table?

Talk about "connecting to regular folks"! That would do it!

Just a clue for the writer. They better be careful saying that only woman shop for food and would be concerned with higher food prices.
In 1955 that would be a good way to focus. But in 2012; men and woman both buy food!

Thus the urgency to get as many folks on food stamps as possible.

Republicans want to take your food stamps away.
