Why do we keep assuming the Sikh shooter thought he was killing Muslims?(vanity chat)
Mamzelle

This appears to be the assumption of Sikhs in America, the news media and even the internet media.

The shooter was military trained in psychological warfare, I believe is a fact? Why do we think that he would confuse Sikhs with Muslims?

I certainly do not. I can tell the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim from a hundred yards in an Atlanta shopping mall. Sikhs have an elegant and kindly air about them, their beards are trimmed with a romantic style and their turbans draped artistically and distinctively. Their woman do not cringe and crouch and do not behave as if they are beaten daily.

Whatever this nut was thinking, there's no evidence yet that this is a matter of mistaken identity.

Another thing that is kind of curious is that the town of Aurora, Colorado, where the batman theater shooter did his killings and made his bombs to booby trap his apartment building, was the same town from which cabdriver Najibullah Zazi came. Zazi was building bombs as well, to put in backpacks to be used against targets in NY.

Yet the press never considered any possibility the Aurora shooter may have been inspired by another Aurora resident named Zazi even if the two never met.

>> I want to know why the psychological field isn’t taking more heat in these shootings

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking.

I just assumed that the neo-nazi types hated anyone that isn’t white, so the Sikhs qualified.

...And yet, Nation of Islam which is composed of black racists, have had meet and greets with white racist leaders of the American Nazi Party for years.

It seems their hatred of jews outweighs their hatred of each other's skin color.

Unfortunately the American press is so infused with stereotyping that they cannot think outside the box and they goright to the stereotype trough for their talking points. Our media must be the most uncurious bunch of people this continent's ever hosted.

jamaat ul fuqra was first exposed in Buena Vista, Colorado. MOA is a corporate front of Jamaat ul Fuqra ; Jamaat ul Fuqra is a front group of Tablighi Jamaat; Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam allegedly belongs to Tablighi Jamaat [even though Jamaat ul fuqra theoretically despises the Nation of Islam]
MOA is associated with the International Quranic Open University [IQOU]

Al Fuqra demonstrated its violent streak and national reach early on. A study written by Yehudit Barsky and published by the Anti-Defamation League catalogues the group's activities. From its first days more than two decades ago, members have attacked a virtual rainbow coalition of targets, including Hare Krishnas in San Diego, Hindus in Toronto, Sikhs in Seattle, and Buddhists in Illinois....------- ***A Junior Al Qaeda Right Here At Home - Meet Al Fuqra (Nat. Review)

Jamaat had white members too, though not many. One of their members was even a convert from Judaism.

They had divided the country up into sectors and assigned teams to each sector. And when people think of muslim training camps these are usually the ones. One of the backers behind ul fuqa was Libya's Moamar Qaddaffi-- but note that moammar was more of a pan-African socialist freakshow than a muslim.

They have also taken aim at Muslims not of their particular liking, and have burned mosques in Detoit and other cities, even taken out selected Imams on behalf of al Qaeda.

And they have done this for decades.

June 17, 1984:(BOMBINGS OF A HINDU ORGANIZATION AND A SIKH ORGANIZATION'S BUILDINGS LINKED TO AL FUQRA) Seattle, Washington - The Integral Yoga Society, a Hindu religious institution, and the Vendanta Society, a Sikh religious institution, are bombed. Stephen Paster of Englewood, Colorado was later arrested in connection to the bombing. After searching his car, police found a .12 gauge firing device and a "shopping list" of the materials required to build a radio-controlled explosive device. ---------- "Al Fuqra: Holy Warriors of Terrorism," Anti-Defamation League (pdf), 1993

If I'm not mistaken, this Paster member of Jamaat ul Fuqra was the lily white convert I mentioned above. And guess what, he's also linkd to Colorado.

This group al Fuqra reminds me of the Revolution Muslim group that Cindy has been following, wonder if they are connected?

June-July, 1984:(KANSAS CITY, MO : REPORTED INCIDENTTARGETING A SIKH ORGANIZATION IS LINKED TO AL FUQRA) Kansas City, Missouri - A defective bomb is found at the Vedanta Society. ---------- "Al Fuqra: Holy Warriors of Terrorism," Anti-Defamation League (pdf), 1993 *******

AUGUST 1, 1984 : (WASHINGTON, JAMAAT AL FUQRA-RELATED ATTACK ON SIKH) John Liczwinko of Seattle, affiliated with the Seattle Vedanta Society, is attacked. - "Black Muslim Sect Scrutinized, " By Knut Royce ,Washington Bureau Jim Mulvaney, George E. Jordan, M. P. McQueen and Timothy M. Phelps contributed to this story, Newsday , June 27, 1993, Sunday, CITY EDITION

The group JuF has also been in on efforts to get Salman Rushdie.

They seem to be of the same mind as Iran's Ahmadinejad govern most of the time, which makes me wonder given the current tenseness in the Middle East with Iran, if this latest outburst of shootings and incidents - note the Toronto case, another place where jamaat ul Fuqra has tendrils- may in fact have something to do with agitation of "lone wolves" by Iran. OK, so it's a leap of a theory but I find it as plausible as the theory that unstable individual battling occasional bouts of schizophrenia meticulously planned a shooting "for months," without even once having a moment of clarity that would make him think "WTF is all this bomb making junk doing in my apartment?" And that this redheaded dingleberry AND a neo-Nazi picked roughly the same time to cook off. I'd love to look at all these perp's reading lists.

Jamaat ul Fuqra also targeted a theater... only in that case the theater was an Indian theater in Toronto in 1991.

Come to think of it, Jamaat ul Fuqra members were also involved in the 1993 landmark plot of the Blind Sheikh...

The very same blind sheikh whose release the Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian president has just recently, right before the shootings, promised his followers he would seek.

Speaking of psychiatric treatment before killing sprees- [aside from the FT Hood shooter being the chosen psychiatric care for returning US soldiers] it gets weirder with jamaat ul Fuqra:

There was the killing of a Sheriff's deptuy in august 2001 in Fresno California :

Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.
...the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.---- "California links of terrorists probed: Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.," By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo, Bee Staff Writers , Sacramento Bee, Published Sept. 30, 2001

Somehow I don't think he was being "treated."

I don't know why anyone would want to kill Sikhs here in the USA but the reasons are endless why someone would have it in for Muslims.

But this notion by the usual blissfully ignorant heartfelt expounders here that Sikhs are so perfect and noble and peaceful shows they know nothing about the history of Sikhs or Punjab.

It's hilarious really.

Some here have Sikhs confused with Yogis and Swamis.

Sikhs are warlike...they carry knives to church.

Sikh bodyguards killed Indira Ghandi after being her trusted companions for years...and old woman..unarmed they were sworn to protect...for their own political reasons.

Air India flight 182...over 300 innocent men, women and kids blown to bits by loving noble Sikhs.

and so forth

Sikhs may not be as rabid as Muslims but they ain't Amish

more like Gurkhas but less martial and more political

the few I have known seemed decent enough and more conservative than Indian Americans

but they weren't all kumbaya either

Reminds me of the French and Indian war... multiple nation states waging war through many proxies, pitting proxy against proxy using ingrained traditional hatreds and vendettas. The more things change, the more they stay the same...

The POS attacked the Temple because he felt comfortable that nobody there was armed—the reason they ALL attack particular places...

...period.

Interesting points, Piasa.

Revolution Muslims members/related pals for the most part are dead or have been arrested.

Thanks--I knew they were warlike, but I did not know about Indira...

I can often *feel* a muslim as opposed to a Hindu, the way you can sense that a dog is about to bite you--although I've been made fun of for this claim so I don't make it often. I think it's just a subliminal perception of body language. You can feel hate, and Muslims hate just about everybody, and women in particular. They have an obviously different way of looking at women, too. Not normal appreciation or even lust, but something strange and awful.
