From what I see they look like GOOD people:

THAT was my first impression
It tells you how far the US educational system has failed Americans AND how far the current administration has reduced the US to a third world s^%$ hole! (NOT that anything on earth justifies lunatics who want to kill unarmed civilians at all)
They need Jesus just like everyone else.
honest, good, clean. hardworking folks. Just like you and I. Honorable people...
Although Gov. Nikki Haley of SC is a Christian, I believe that her extended family is Sikh and that she sometimes attends Sikh services still.
Sikh’s made up about 60% of the British Indian Army, and took tens of thousands of casualties in WWI and WWII.
They also rec’d an even larger percentage of commendations and Victoria Crosses.

I think their goodness depends on who and where in history you are.
The Sikhs I’ve met have all been polite and friendly people. Living near a Sikh community, I run into them often enough. My wife has worked with a number of Sikhs, and she has nothing but good to say about them. Their religion strikes me as a hodgepodge mix, kinda’ New Age, but they seem more down to earth than New Agers. The temple near here is one of the warrior type temples, or so I hear, but none of the guys I’ve met strike me as being the least bit militant.
Remember shirley temple. the awesome indian guy that protected her. was he a Sikh?
One of my best friends dated one for a short time.
Her big complaint was he didn’t wash his hair enough.
Killed the deal.
Sikhism is a Vedic-based religion. It is genuinely a religion of peace.
What a horrible crime, and a terrible shame!
I know that Islamic Pakistanis use them as the butt of jokes far worse than any Polish or Negro jokes ever told in this country. A Paki ledgend has it that the Sikhs go mad at noon each day because of the heat inside of their turban.
These nuggets came to me from Pak college students back in the mid 60s. I rented apartments to Paks, Hindu and Sikhs from former East Pakistan. The Sikhs paid on time but were not the cleanest renters but neither were the Indian or Pakis.
One Sikh family at our elementary school— wife is German, husband is Sikh. Nice parents, volunteers at the school, although maybe a little reserved. My son and theirs played well together. Definitely not helicopter parents. They let their son play on his own at the park at a young age and expected him to walk home on his own. That is uncommon in our area. The son had a ponytail down to his elbows, which made me mistake him for his sister on more than one occasion.
Regards,
GtG
They also protected Indira Gandhi...until 2 of them put about 30 rounds into her while she was walking to work.
A Sikh taught me how to whet and shave with a straight razor when I was a freshman in college.
He wouldn’t be caught dead with a safety razor — that was for amateurs.
They are the most well bred, articulate and courteous students on campus.
Most are quiet about it, but in India they have been the target of Muslim violence for donkey's years.
The Sikhs I know are also some of the most refined, intelligent and wonderful LOOKING people you'll ever meet.
This was my first thought when I heard of the shooting: What have the Sikhs ever done to anybody?
Sikhism itself appears to be a blend of monotheistic Abrahamic religion and some Eastern spirituality. They believe in one God, are very family oriented, reject the caste system of India, are peaceful, and generally live according to a moral code that Christians and Jews would find very familiar.
Different folks then those of us of western European ancestry, but good people and good Americans nonetheless.
A very sad day.
“Could the shooter have mistaken them for Muslims?”
My thoughts.
“... didn’t know the difference between a Sikh and a muslim”.
I thought so but if the media reports are accurate and the shooter was a neo-nazi... Sikhs = Muslims = Jews = fill in the blank.
