glad you dogs are doing OK I had a rescue that I had for only 20 months, but I didn't know she had a large tumor on her upper leg/shoulder area...she was running to the door to be let our and screamed (thats the only word that fits) and had a spontaneous leg fracture, went we went to the vets the next morning, the xray showed the break was where the bone cancer was...you could only see the bone on the r side of the leg, the tumor was as big as my fist and covered the rest of the leg..I wasn't expecting to have to put her down and it took me about 1/2 hour in the exam room with her head in my lap to make the decision....

She was a senior dog and the vet said chemo would probably kill her and if she survived it then it would be a leg amputation after that.....I put her down, poor baby. She was rescued from a kill shelter by a group called Last day Dog rescue......I found her on the Internet...she was a sweet girl, her master died and no one in the family wanted her....According to the vet maybe 12 years old...but she got an extra 20 months with me and my lab....they just ignored each other but would take walks together with me... I am so glad your baby is doing well....

Rotator cuff pain has me up, instead of side effect riddled pain pills I will rely on my Savior.

I wish I could send some rain to you.

It was raining “sideways” the night before last, and it came into my balcony.

And (eyew) EVIDENTLY the last tenant in this apartment had....CATS!

Linda is NOT amused.

I am going to have to get a couple of metric tons of baking soda.

Lesson Of The Horse Mask

September 9, 2012

Not far from where my husband and I live is a farm with a lot of horses. During certain seasons, some of the horses have masks over their eyes. For a long time I felt sorry for the horses who weren’t allowed to see. But then I learned that my assumption about the masks was wrong. The masks are made of mesh, so horses can see through them. But flies, which cause eye disease, can’t get through them. The masks don’t keep the horses from seeing; they keep them from going blind!

Non-Christians often make conclusions about the Bible similar to the one I made about the mask. They think of it as something God puts over our eyes to keep us from seeing all the fun we could be having. They feel sorry for Christians because they think the Lord keeps us from enjoying life. What I didn’t know about the horse mask, they don’t know about the Bible. It doesn’t keep us from seeing all that is good; it keeps us from being infected by lies that cause spiritual blindness. The Bible doesn’t keep us from enjoying life; it makes true enjoyment possible.

The Bible doesn’t keep us from knowing truth; it prevents us from believing lies.

O send Thy Spirit, Lord, now unto me
That He may touch my eyes and make me see;
Show me the truth concealed within Thy Word,
And in Thy Book revealed I see Thee, Lord. —Lathbury
When we see the world through the filter of the Word, we learn the truth about both.

Read: Psalm 119:33-40

Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way. —Psalm 119:37
Bible in a Year:
Ezekiel 19-21

Until the baking soda is deployed, I am burning authentic Nag Champa Indian Incense (given to me by a Buddhist friend) to sweeten the air a bit.

It is so nasty out there, I can’t begin to describe it.

About as well as the sound of one hand clapping.
