Cruz vs. Dewhurst
Texas election | 7/2912

Posted on 07/29/2012 7:57:33 AM PDT by DallasBiff

Initially I was a Cruz supporter, but as the campaign rolled on and I found out that Cruz is a trial lawyer, I was skeptical, but I still supported Cruz, because he said the right things.

Still, though, saying the right things cannot hide your initial background, a trial lawyer=community activist.

As in all elections, the choice is the lesser of two evils, and a businessman is a lesser evil than a trial lawyer.

And not to mention that Cruz is an open borders advocate. His supporters will try to brow beat anyone who mentions that little publicized fact. Oh well, start the beating. OBTW, i absolutely despise Dewhurst the tax and spend liberal thinking Republican but to vote for Cruz, most likely not. A bad choice even if it is the lesser or the two evils is still a bad choice in the end.

I am sure the Houston Comical will (if they haven't already) endorse Dewhurst. Then in Nov. they will endorse the democrat. That is ALWAYS the way they do it and I ALWAYS do just the opposite.

Duh!!! we all know that.

# As the Houston Chronicle reported, Ted is “a hard-liner on border security and illegal immigration. He opposes amnesty, the DREAM act and the Texas law that allows in-state college tuition to children of illegal immigrants.”

# Indeed, Ted successfully fought the UN and World Court before the U.S. Supreme Court defending a Texas jury’s right to execute an illegal alien for brutally raping and murdering two teenage girls in Houston.

# Critically, Dewhurst is making this false and desperate attack because his own record is so weak on illegal immigration:

* Under Dewhurst, Texas has become a sanctuary state, where illegal immigrants come because they know they can find work here.

* In the last session, Dewhurst killed the bill that would have banned sanctuary cities.

* In the last session, Dewhurst killed the bill that would have ended in-state tuition for illegal aliens.

* Dewhurst has repeatedly waffled on building a wall to secure our border.

I don't see Cruz as an open border advocate, regardless of what lying Dewhurst ads say.

So you know that newspapers endorse the most liberal Republicans and you still want us to vote for him?

I am thinking maybe you are on Dewhursts campaign staff/payroll.

I don’t find him boring. Only because I am usually screaming at him for his mushy moderate stance with most issues....especially when he says barry is “intelligent”.

That one really gets me going, lol.

“.....Cruz has a very whiny voice....”
****************************************************
And, looking through your posts on this thread, you have a whiny tone.

What a strange jihad you’re waging in this thread against Cruz and his MANY supporters! You don’t by any chance work for the same employer as the former FReeper “ngad”, do you? Many of us had suspicions that he worked for the Dewhurst campaign.

Folks, those of you who are fortunate enough to be Texans and haven’t yet voted-—get out on Tuesday and vote for Cruz or send your absentee ballot in. Better yet, do that plus check with the Cruz campaign and see where you can best help them out.

Citing the Houston Comical as your source for your version of the facts tells me everything I need to know.

What the HC says about him has nothing to do with the FACT that Cruz, at the Supreme Court, defended Texas' right to kill an illegal immigrant that had committed horrible crimes.

It also doesn't change Dewhurst's actions of killing conservative legislation.

Dewhurst has poisoned the well with his lying commercials.

After Dewhurst loses on Tuesday, I'll be full-on to get rid of him as Lt. Gov.

Added. I expect to do my first thread Tuesday night after the election results are in.

Don't know what happened to Biff. Maybe he's at the bar at the country club, complaining about how a vile tea-partier hijacked his thread. ;)

Is that supposed to be an insult? Then you fail. Just like Dewhurst ads. You fail to mention why I a Cruz supporter should rethink my vote.

Cruz will not cooperate with Demonrats. I will not vote for a MODERATE LYING politician with intents of towing the GOPe line.

Try again.

So did the island of Manhattan which voted for McGovern in 72, and a famous paraphrased quote from a now forgotten Manhattan socialite, "All my friends voted for McGovern, how did he lose"

Dewhurst lost by 14%. Got anything to say?
