“I’m going to give some basic magnesium supplements a try.”
A magnesium soak in the tub will make a big difference, and doing so just before going to bed could help you get a really good night’s sleep.
Bttt
Oral magnesium supplements do very little to raise your magnesium levels. I have tried transdermal magnesium and not had very good luck with it - it's oily and irritating to the skin. The angstrom magnesium, on the other hand, has been a miracle....my provider suggested 1 T twice a day. It tastes terrible, so I put it in a slug of chocolate coconut milk.
Angstrom minerals go right into your bloodstream, so there's not the gastric issues that other magnesium supplements can cause. This stuff has been life-changing.
My source is a bit cheaper than this....freepmail me and I will send you the website.
Thanks for posting. This is a very interesting thread.
I believe the ionic forms of magnesium are easily absorbable.
Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium Citrate, Magnesium Ascorbate, Magnesium Acetate, Magnesium Sulfate (epsom salts).
But Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Magnesium Carbonate will go through you like stuff through a goose!!
Not a diuretic... more like a diarhetic!!
Up To 80% of Americans Are Magnesium Deficient... Are You?
- Print ThisPrint This
Magnesium deficiency is running rampant among Americans. One study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health shows that 68% of Americans are magnesium deficient.1 Other experts put the number closer 80%.2
Data from the 1999-2000 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey suggest that substantial numbers of adults in the U.S. dont get even the minimal amounts of magnesium recommended.
Of all the minerals required for good health, calcium has been pushed into the spotlight. There has been a flood of calcium-fortified foods, beverages, and supplements. Ironically, without magnesium, calcium cannot be properly used or absorbed by the body.

I seem to remember somewhere that soft drinks (specifically colas) deplete magnesium. Anyone else hear that?
I haven’t heard they do anything specific with Magnesium, but I have heard over and over that the phosphoric acid in sodas plays hell with body chemistry.
Put an iron nail in a can of coke some time and have the kids count the days till it’s totally gone...
How do you choke down 2oz of vinegar with half a teaspoon of Milk of Magnesia? that would be pretty rough.
Not if you stir it good.
The Magnesium Oxide neutralizes the vinegar acidity.
At first, it will appear milky or cloudy.
As you stir, it will become clearer and clearer.
Strangely enough, it has an oddly sweet taste to it!
If you can handle a glass of Cabernet, this should be no problem for you...

Bump so I have handy reference to thread.
