Nice
Here's a heavily edited clip of The Citadel's Summerall Guards, just a minute or so of the approximately 15 minute routine each years class at the Citadel learns their junior year as Bond Volunteers and performs the senior year as Summerall Guards. My year as a Summerall Guard we did King Rex parade at Mardis Gras in NOLA, a Miami Dolphins game, presented the flag at Darlington 400 (try standing at attention on an asphalt race track) etc. etc. If you want to see the whole routine search You Tube for Summerall Guards. These cadets are full time students and athletes, in addition to learning this routine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaugqIIeds0&feature=player_detailpage

I remember seeing them at the Iwo Jima Memorial at Arlington when I was little. Between them and the Old Guard at The Tomb of the Unknowns, it was very cool to a 9 year old.

That sure is a nice drill, and to think that I never got to do any of that when I was in the CORPS. Of course that was 70 years ago.
Sax it has been a long time since we have "talked". I am still working, but not as hard or as long. My days start at 0300 and stops about 0800 each day. My wife passed away about 4 months ago and I am just now getting over it. We were married for 68 years.
You have a wonderful weekend and the very best to you and yours.

Tommie, just hearing from you makes this post worth it. I was thinking about you not too long ago. I knew about your wife, was wondering how you were doing.

I am doing as well as can be expecded, still hanging in there. Had a heart attack some months ago and a reaccurance a month ago. However that does not stop me from comming to work. It is now 3:37 am and I am in my office now. I am just now getting over the downer that I had from losing her. Since I turned 88 it seems like I am going down hill faster, might be the fact that I am now 88.
How are things with you?? Hope all is well.
The very best to you and yours.
