We haven’t had any movie reviews since “Mrs. Miniver” a month ago so this will have to tide us over until the next all-time classic. TCM didn’t have any clips or trailers for this epic. If the review is accurate that is a merciful omission. I see that Eddie Albert has a minor role in “Eagle Squadron.” He will be taking a leave of absence from Hollywood soon, if he hasn’t already left for the navy. In 16 months he will be transporting Marines from a transport to a very hot beach at Tarawa Atoll.

Interesting that the three Eagle Squadrons (71, 121, 133 Squadrons of the RAF)
still exist as the 334th, 335th and 336th Fighter Squadrons of the USAF, based at Seymour-Johnson AFB, North Carolina (F-15E’s). They were transferred to the USAAF when we entered WWII.
