Sounds like a plan. Perhaps a couple of Navy and Air Force squadrons could do a high speed pass down the national mall.

Would they be available for a short tour of duty in Washington?

Here, where Navy and AF both play, and nobody follows airspace rules on speed, sometimes we get an air pressure change and the mach number suddenly changes.
Dust falls from the ceiling. Oops.
Stuff happens. Sound of freedom in my book.

Same thing happened at AF Academy in 1968 during a flyover.
Planes: F -105
Result: virtually every south facing window shattered.
And, the Academy is virtually all glass.

During the first Red Star exercises in Nevada during the Eighties, a delegation of local indians led by their chief went up to the base to ask what they were doing and to complain of all the broken windows on their reservation. The Air Force PAO met with them and explained: “Folks, we’re training to kill commies.” The chief replied: “In that case, we have a lot of windows.”
