Thank you, dearest Kitty! All of today’s graphics are
terrific and just what I expected from all our talented
friends. You all are the best finding great graphics and
I so enjoy them on our precious Country’s birthday. I
hope our Country will get to celebrate many more before
SOMEONE (LOL) bans it. That would be surely worth fighting
for, don’t you agree? I’m ready.
My love to you and ALL OF AMY’S FRIENDS! I’m so glad to call
you all FRIENDS!

I love this and it always brings a tear to my eye. What
a great hero. And as that other old saying goes....Where have all our heroes gone? They leave us too early and will
not be replaced.
Thank you, Yorkie, so much.

I think someone should read this passage to the O. There are some things he just doesn't quite understand about our government.
"Let the Fourth of July always be a reminder that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights; that government is only a convenience created and managed by the people, with no powers of its own except those voluntarily granted to it by the people."

Hi, Yorkie! I'm enjoying a nice California Cabernet as we speak! Not the finest, but quite serviceable.
A Glorious Fourth to you, Yorkie!

Late afternoon and the kids in the neighborhood are anxious to set off their fireworks. Our dogs will want to be held and cuddled with the sounds of fireworks.
Happy 4th of July!

Thank You MEG. I remember my first post was in reply to a thread asking Veterans to share a bit about themselves and their time in service. Mine was Sept 63 to Sept67. Proud of my service to this Great Country. Now if we can just get rid of Bozo...

My Buddy William
July 5, 2012
As we got off the bus at a home for mentally and physically challenged children in Copse, Jamaica, I didnt expect to find a football player. While the teen choir and the other adult chaperones dispersed to find kids to hug, love, and play with, I came upon a young man named William.
Im not sure what Williams medical diagnosis was, but he looked like he probably had cerebral palsy. I had grabbed a football before getting off the bus, so I tossed it gently to William, who dropped it.
But when I picked it up and put it into his hands, he slowly manipulated it until he had it just how he wanted it. Then, leaning back against a railing for balance, William tossed a perfect spiral. For the next 45 minutes, we played toss and catchhe tossed, I caught. William laughed and laughedand stole my heart. On that day he had as much impact on me, Im sure, as I did on him. He taught me that we are all needed as a part of Christs body, the church (1 Cor. 12:20-25).
People often dismiss others who are different from themselves. But it is the Williams of the world who teach us that joy can come when we accept others and respond in compassion. Is there a William in your world who needs you to be his buddy?
Lord, help us to see how much we need each other
in our Christian walk. May we show Your love
to others who are different than us. Give us an
open heart to learn. Amen.
We need one another in order to be who God wants us to be.

We spent the evening watching what should have been a patriotic celebration of the 4th on multiple TV specials. PATHETIC, mostly love songs like Firecracker, a salute to the new Olympics team members, little to our Troops or America. Those skits katie perry did were awful. Tribute to Gene Kelly, come on give me a break that was not patriotic in the least, boring at best.
And I am old enough to know who Gene Kelly was and enjoyed his movies when they were first out. But it had nothing to do with honoring the 4th of July and the birth of this once great nation.
