What other Democrat senators do you think might be forced to vote for repeal in order to save their political hides?

The Biggest Tax Increase in the World’s History Paid By Every American: Hang that albatross around the neck of every Democrat running in the South or West.

Harry Reid will not allow a repeal to come up for a vote. I am not sure if McConnell can do anything to force Reid’s hand given the byzantine rules that govern the Senate.

I suspect that we won’t really see any action on it till after the election. That will take some shaky democrats out of play but I believe we’re going to make big gains in the senate.

Remarked to wife yesterday, most dem congress critters did not seem particularly happy and very few (except the usual lefty wingnuts in bullet proof districts and states) were embracing ownership of it.

Dems are not that popular in LA right now from what I’ve seen. The big races (like the one against Vitter a year or so ago) are going very badly for them. Ditto the governor’s race where Jindal was re-elected (despite some very tough and unpopular budgetary decisions he’s made). Landrieu is no longer a “shoe in” for re-election and if she seeks it she’s going to have a serious uphill battle trying to explain how she’s in the tank for the “largest tax increase in history” during a time of great economic difficulties. Should get interesting.

This is a very good question. Many will say that Reid won’t even bring it to a vote. Calling it what it is, a tax increase, changes the political paradigm. I believe there may even be pressure to bring it to the floor from the Democrat side, it’s the only way to get this booger off their finger.

I’m not so sure there aren’t other Dem Senators that may read the tea leaves and vote against it this time, now that it’s exposed as a tax, and now that the states cannot be coerced into putting the poor on Medicaid.

Mark Warner comes to mind, and Jim Webb isn’t running again, would he want to vote for this massive tax increase again?

The bigger question is “What’s in it for Mary”. Her vote had to be bought. It will be interesting to see if Proud Mary has any new campaign commercials this year. Can’t wait to see the N’awlins dockworkers tell me how “Mary saved our jobs”

I further suggest that we all research. If a democrat has an office full of pharmaceutical or medical insurance lobbyists, they should be beat over the head with it.

As an example, people should be aware of what Bart Stupak got for screwing America. He's a partner with Venable LLP which is a lobbying firm. Listed as his areas of expertise are Legislative and Government Affairs, Healthcare, Banking and Financial Services Regulation, Congressional Investigations, Energy, Communications.

The industries he represents are big winners under Obamacare. Dietary Supplements, Cosmetics and Functional Foods,Drugs, Medical Devices and Biologics.

The Honorable Bart Stupak Partner

Open secrets is a petty good site for researching such things. For instance, among the top industries contributing to Debbie Stabenow are Lawyers/Law Firms, Securities & Investment, and Health Professionals.

Opensecrets.org

You can also dig up the names of staffers and their history. Congressional staff is lobbyist heavy on both sides of the aisle.

Will Senator Mary Landrieu vote to REPEAL ObamaCare?

When? When Harry Reid allows a vote? There isn't going to be a vote. Ever.

Didn't Landrieu get one of the biggest payoffs to vote for it in the first place?
