Could this have been a calculated move by SCOTUS Roberts by calling it a TAX he just made Obama a liar!
Damning the man too soon???
Sorry, but with this ruling, Roberts just expanded federal power to unprecidented proportions, it is now conpletely constitutional for the government to MANDATE you buy ANY good or service, for any reason.. regardless of whether you need, want or even can afford it or penalize you for not doing so.
Pacifist? Who cares you now have to buy a gun or pay a tax, and if you can’t pay the tax, you could go to jail.
Vegitarian? Who cares you must now buy $x of BEEF a year or pay a “tax”
Athiest? Who cares you must now buy a rosary or pay a “TAX”
No Drivers LIcense? Who cares you must now buy a car, or pay a “tax”
Don’t watch TV? Who cares you must now buy a TV or pay a “tax”
This isn’t just a political football for one decision for one political cycle, this is a rediculous expansion of federal power beyond ANYTHING the founders intended. No one who has read the Federalist Papers could remotely come to this conclusion.
This decision is just like the Abortion decision, they basically made it up to get the call they wanted, it is inexcusible and a blatantly treasonous act.
Roberts comes too late to make Obama a liar.
“....he just made Obama a liar!”
That would be like making Sheikh Khalid Muhammad a Muslim.
Since the sole reason for Obamacare is to raise money from healthy young people through requiring them to buy health insurance...
“I should of seen it comin’”!
The Democrats & Rinos will throw sand in the gears of any movement to repeal the tax. Heck, we haven’t had a federal budget in 3 years.
Seriously, you may be right.
I pray for our children's future. We did not teach them the ways of a corrupt world. We taught them what we our forefathers taught us.
I believe this to be true and it needs to be repeated over and over again!!!
How can the individual mandate as a tax be challenged when the SCOYTUS has already ruled it’s legal?

Who cares? If Congress can force people to do things via taxation, we’re done. Prohibitive taxes on gasoline, cars and trucks are coming to get people into buses and trains as well as huge surcharges on single family dwellings to force people into apartments for the good of the environment. Excessive taxes on fast food and sugary drinks will make us be more “responsible” to keep healthcare costs down. Non PC books and movies will have a “social justice” tax added. Where does it end?
Article 1, Section 7 of the COTUS: All Bills to raise revenue must originate in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Where did the (Confirmed) Affordable Care Act (CACA for short) orginate? Hint: Not the House.
Taxes can't be adjudicated until someone has actually paid and been harmed by said tax.
Hope everyone who has employer paid health insurance is ready to be dumped into government run exchange. Single payer here we come!
It can be legal all day long, but someone has to pay for it, or it does not matter.
You give him far too much credit.
The actual explanation is that the barbarians on the other end of The Won’s BlackBerry let him know that if the decision turned out “wrong” The Won would be nominating a new Chief Justice soon.
Then mass non-compliance may be the only response. Or will the IRS fine/jail millions?
Maybe that’s what those camps are for...
I have a friend who hates Obama. He thinks this is indeed what Roberts intended to do...I just wish the court had done the right thing. Did Roberts even define ANY limits on the federal government’s right to tax?

If it was not written as a tax, why does it provide for 16,000 more IRS agents?
