"A typed radio message announced the havoc wreaked on the town of Lidice in retribution for the assassination of Heydrich.
On the day prior to the destruction of Lidice, Hitler issued the following warning:

'Nothing will prevent me from expelling millions of Czechs if they are not prepared for a peaceful life together.'

The massacre at Lidice sent a clear message to anyone thinking about opposing the Nazi regime.
