According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of children in the United States with autism has risen by 78 percent over the past decade. It is now estimated that 1 out of every 88 children in the United States has some form of autism disorder.

That was metaphorically speaking smarta$$
In the US at least, there are likely three factors all combining for the increase in autism diagnoses:
1) The definition of autism was officially broadened to include a whole ‘spectrum’, whereas it was once a very limited and extreme diagnosis.
2) There is funding now for both schools and parents with kids given the diagnosis, which has encouraged parents of children with all kinds of developmental, behavioral and mental disorders to seek an autism diagnosis—and professionals to give one.
3) Some sort of environmental/exposure factor is also likely involved, as we know that the incidence of fairly severe autism has increased in certain regions and populations quite dramatically.
That #3 is still unclear, but I wonder have you seen and investigated the newly discovered potential link to antidepressants, as posted on this thread?
‘________sound waves on a developing baby’s brain_______’
If I were still bearing children, I would forgo the ultra-sound.
I remember years ago wondering if ultrasounds were risky - convinced myself they can’t be good for the fetus.
Seeing the videos of the happy parents-in-waiting ooo-ing and aaah-ing during the ultrasound makes me nuts - the amount of time these parents allow the tech to operate that equipment on mom’s abdomen is criminal, thank you.
And that picture one gets for the ‘fridge magnet - seduces the parents, but leaves me confounded - what the ‘H’ am I looking at??!
If the doc really suspects something, go ahead with a quick ultrasound, but all that other stuff - c’mon!
Recalling one of our daughter’s friends was having some sort of problem, and I suggested they consider the ultrasounds she had . .
Don’t think anybody does. . .
I personally just don’t see the point in getting vaccinated against every little malady mankind has suffered for thousands of years. In fact I’m not so sure it isn’t more harmful than helpful.
Obviously the smallpox vaccine was a good thing but the drawback is that there is so little natural immunity that if it made a comeback, the mortality rate would be much higher.
I’m simply not going to waste my time or money on crap like flu and chickenpox vaccines.
As time goes on (and things worsen daily), I find that the “Normalcy Bias” is one of the most dangerous forces in play; we see its ill effects all around us, constantly.
Yea...its all in the Squalene
My nephew became autistic soon after being vaccinated.
You’re right, it’s a bloody epidemic.
I just had a conversation with someone at work about this subject last week. For some strange reason she bacame very angry and said, “We had vaccines as kids and we don’t have autism.” Is it possible that the changing content and frequency of the vaccines might have altered the outcomes? Naa, couldn’t be.
Remember folks, nothing bad is on the increase (except man-made global warming), it’s just that we hear more about the negative stuff because of the internet. /s You’d be surprised how many times I’ve heard people say that.
There is an autistic child in my neighborhood...the guilt-ridden mother is now the local 'bitch from hell'...takes it out on every one else because she is having trouble dealing with what she did...
Well: all these vaccines have one adjuvant or another: designed to ramp up immune response to the antigen. Squalene is one, Aluminium Hydroxide is another.
It’s that heightened adjuvant response to a given antigen which *may* be the common factor; it might not be any given adjuvant.
But yes, water fluoridation is another example -- how many times have you heard people tell you “the gubmint wouldn't do it if it was bad for people...” or “you must be a tin-foil hatter if you think the doctors and gubmint are lying...”
+1. Friend with the same experience. Unfortunately there are other factors beyond that one event: drinking city water, consuming processed foods, bottle feeding, etc. Hard to say exact pathway to autism.
Oh, okay. Science is now a metaphor.
And, you claim I am in the Autism spectrum....!
I’m so sorry about your boys. My nephew was brain-damage by his DPT shot. He began having seizures immmediately after the shot, and he began regressing and stopped speaking. He’s now 28, and functions at the level of a 4 year old. He began speaking very early.
My son had a severe reaction to HIS DPT shot, his leg ballooned up and he was screaming a high-pitched scream. I discontinued his shots after that. He has been diagnosed as Aspberger/ADHD. He is fortunately high-functioning, and is extremely intelligent.
“There is an autistic child in my neighborhood...the guilt-ridden mother is now the local ‘bitch from hell’...takes it out on every one else because she is having trouble dealing with what she did...”
What did she do? Did she deliberately cause her child to have Autism? I can understand her frustration, and being a bitch from hell about it. It is a very bad situation to be in, having autistic children, it makes you feel hopeless.
Knowing your child will probably never have any kind of normal life, and you will spend the rest of your life caring for them, they will never leave the nest, have a career, or a family, and will probably never accomplish anything meaningful. They are cold and emotionless, almost without a soul. It’s really hard on the parents. The worst part is trying to imagine what’s going to happen to them after you pass away, prison? Hospital? Institution? It’s not a pretty reality.
The woman is a bitch from hell, I can understand and appreciate that, don’t hold it against her, try to put yourself in her situation.
What is different about vaccines today than when we were growing up?
My sons were made ill after the MMR shots, before we even left the clinic they were breaking out. They were both sick for a few days after that.
They have never spoken another word since that day, and have never been the same since. Cognitively they will always be little children, and will be incontinent for the rest of their lives.
I must be crazy to believe it had anything to do with the MMR injection.
