According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of children in the United States with autism has risen by 78 percent over the past decade. It is now estimated that 1 out of every 88 children in the United States has some form of autism disorder.

That's debatable: Yes, yes it is:

As far as the trafficking of fetal body parts from abortions for profit, thats criminal and immoral on every level and Federal law prohibits it and the law should be enforced without question and unethical companies and people skirting the law, punished. I do not disagree with you there.
However it should be mentioned that not all fetal tissues used in medical research come from abortions and some parents do choose to voluntarily and without payment, donate tissues from spontaneously aborted babies (i.e. miscarriages) for the purposes of medical research. That is perhaps a moral grey area for many (and on some levels for me as well) but then some parents believe that donating their brain dead childrens organs such as of the result of an accident and traumatic brain injury in order to save the life of another child is the right and moral thing to do, that out of great tragedy can come some good. I myself have considered donating my body after death for medical research and I am an organ and tissue donor as well as someone who regularly donates blood. That of course is my choice, not to be confused with choice as it comes to abortion, something that I am absolutely and unequivocally against.
But it should also be understood that if all abortions were outlawed today, if anyone engaging in the use of fetal tissues for medical research from this day forward were outlawed, that would not bring back to life the two babies aborted in the early 1960s nor negate the untold lives saved due to the vaccinations that resulted in using those two cell lines. And if the use of those two cell lines were outlawed today and all vaccinations that are derived from growing viruses in those cell lines were prohibited, under current law, it would do nothing to stop or reduce the number of abortions.
As far as your other post claiming a supposed correlation (the old correlation automatically equals causation myth) between vaccinations and That virus-laden DNA of aborted babies could be wreaking havoc on the DNA of healthy children is completely plausible. First of all vaccinations that contain live or inactivated virus that was cultivated in human cells would at the very most contain such a minute and trace amount of any DNA from the cell line it was cultivated in as to be negligible if there is any at all, that is unless you proscribe to homeopathy (another junk science). And in those miniscule and fragmented amounts, there is no serious study that confirms this is at all harmful. If this was true, catching the common cold from another person, if say that sneezed on you and passed a bit of their DNA along with the virus, should also cause Autism, but it doesnt.
Also the timelines for increases in the instances of Autism and vaccinations also very closely syncs to the increased awareness and diagnosis of Autism and the recognition of many cognitive and developmental and that were never clearly diagnosed or blamed on other factors and even socialization disorders such as Aspersers are now classified as on the Autism spectrum. Based on the new diagnosis protocols for diagnosing Autism many great minds would probably be diagnosed as having been somewhere on the Autism spectrum such as Aspersers Albert Einstein for instance and he to my knowledge ever received any modern vaccinations as a child.
Autisms cause is still a medical mystery and one Im hoping will be solved and perhaps prevented in my lifetime due to sound medical research and not junk science. BTW ¬- Im old enough to remember when Autism was blamed on cold, unfeeling and emotionally distant mothers. Mothers of truly Autistic children were made to feel as if they were to blame for their childrens condition. Now we are blaming mothers (and fathers) who and rightly so, vaccinate their children against potentially lethal diseases.
When the cold mothers are to blame was proved untrue, vaccinations containing mercury was blamed but when mercury was no longer used in vaccinations and the rates of Autism still increased, the anti-vax crowd looked to yet some other boogie man, some currently blaming it on the supposed and specious danger of the DNA from aborted babies in vaccinations as the cause. Next week, who knows? Some have now moved on to TV and video games and cell phone towers as this weeks boogie man. Some even think that GMOs and hormones in milk and beef are to blame.
The bottom line is that vaccinations have save far more lives than the very small number of people harmed by rare and actually proven but unfortunate instances of side effects. Again, Im old enough to remember when pregnant women lived in fear of contracting Rubella while pregnant and saw firsthand the horrific results of that disease in a cousin of mine just as my mother saw the horrific results of Polio in her day.

The bottom line is that vaccinations have save far more lives than the very small number of people harmed by rare and actually proven but unfortunate instances of side effects. I agree.
My whole point in posting to this thread is to point out that vaccines are not a violation of Natural Law or basic Christian morality and therefore are not intrinsically immoral, and neither are they intrinsically dangerous. They alleviate by orders of magnitude far more suffering and death than the known (and unfortunate) complications caused by them and/or their ingredients over the years.
On the other hand, IF a causation is proven between any vaccine and autism, the first place to look for a cause is in immoral experimentation or production practices, because violation of Natural Law ALWAYS causes temporal and spiritual consequences, without exception.
If a link between vaccines and autism is ever proven, it will likely be due to the use of fetal cell lines obtained from abortion.
On the other hand, as I've said elsewhere:

Rise in Autism: Aborted Fetal DNA in Vaccines Versus Cable TV?
I am a 100% skeptic when it comes to claims of a link between autism and vaccines. There is far more correlation between television viewing and autism rates than any other link. See
TV might cause autism. - By Gregg Easterbrook - Slate Magazine
Rainfall + cable TV = autism?
However, the following theory must be fully explored:

Study: Rise in Autism and introduction of Aborted Fetal DNA in Vaccines Correlate
By James Tillman
PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 3, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- Dr. Theresa Deisher, founder of the pro-life Sound Choice Pharmaceutical Institute, presented a study revealing the link between autism and aborted fetal DNA in vaccinations at the International Meeting for Autism Research in May.
"The temporal connection between the introduction of aborted fetal DNA and autism rises is found over decades and across continents," Dr. Deisher told LifeSiteNews. "This temporal connection is more compelling than any mercury connection," which, she said, had no temporal connection to rising rates of autism.
As the abstract of the study indicates, autism rates in the US and the UK began to increase around the same time that the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine switched from using animal cells to using human cells that had been derived from aborted fetuses.
The use of such cells means that the vaccine might contain residual human DNA fragments. Dr. Deisher told LSN that "short fragments of human DNA residuals in vaccines present two well-documented potential physiological dangers" and "the possibility for auto-immune reactions." While the immune system recognizes the DNA as foreign, its similarity to an individuals own DNA can cause the immune system to attack parts of the individual's own body.
Another danger springs from the length of the DNA fragments. Residual DNA fragments consisting of less than 250 base pairs (bp) have been shown to have a higher probability of entering the nucleus of human cells. Once inside the nucleus, short DNA fragments can integrate with the genome of the cell. The probability of integration is 1 billion times greater with DNA from the same species than with DNA from another species, according to the abstract.
The study explained that, as the average human DNA fragment length in the rubella vaccine is 220bp, it would be especially likely to enter the nucleus of a cell. Moreover, 25 of the "recombination hotspots" where the DNA fragment could likely combine are located in some of the autism-associated genes (AAG). Thus, such recombination could be one of the causes of autism.
According to SCPI, before children received many vaccinations and before vaccines contained aborted fetal DNA, only about 1 of 10,000 children was diagnosed with autism, whereas now 1 of 150 is diagnosed.
Sound Choice is working to provide further evidence of a causal association between residual human DNA and autism. "In order to definitively prove the connection, one would want to see these vaccines all replaced and autism rates go down immediately," Dr. Deisher told LSN.
Sound Choice also plans to look at historical databases for more evidence of correlation, to evaluate a mouse model of autism using mouse DNA fragments, and to attempt to determine the exact location where human DNA fragments enter the human genome.
The pro-life organization Children of God for Life praised Sound Choice and its companion organization Ave Maria Biotechnology for their crucial research.
"Until the advent of AVM Biotechnology and their non-profit arm SCPI we had little hope that anyone would invest the time and money to do this study", stated Children of God for Life founder Debi Vinnedge.
"Dr. Deisher's work is a blessing to hundreds of thousands of families, if not millions worldwide," Vinnedge continued. "She is a direct answer to our prayers for a biotech company focused solely on moral research and ethically produced vaccines and therapeutics."

Is Aborted Fetal DNA in Vaccines Linked to Autism?

A lot of anti-vaccine propagandists point to the Amish as evidence that vaccines cause autism. They claim the Amish do not vaccinate, and the Amish have lower autism rates.
However, in general the Amish do vaccinate, but there are subsets of Amish who do not.
On the other hand, Amish do not watch television. No one wants to even look at that.
TVs Relationship to Mental Retardation and Autism
(Photo: Library of Congress)
TV is bad for children. Wait, no its not. Yes, it is! And its really bad for their hearts!
Heres the latest paper on the topic, from Michael Waldman, Sean Nicholson, and Nodir Adilov. Using a natural experiment to rule out the possibility of reverse causation, the authors find a strong negative correlation between average county-level cable subscription rates when a birth cohort is below three and subsequent mental retardation diagnosis rates, but a strong positive correlation between the same cable subscription rates and subsequent autism diagnosis rates.
In other words, TV watching decreases the rate of mental retardation but increases the rate of autism. The authors hypothesize that, consistent with earlier research, for the typical child television watching at age two improves cognitive development and decreases diagnoses of mental retardation.
In contrast, TV might be particularly bad news for kids vulnerable to autism:
[W]e believe the most likely explanation is that there is a genetically vulnerable group for which early childhood television watching serves as a trigger for autism. It has long been known that autism has a strong genetic component (see e.g., Rimland (1964) and Folstein and Rutter (1977)). So one explanation for our autism results is that at least for some children diagnosed with autism it is not the genetics alone which triggers the condition, but rather the genes create a vulnerability to autism that is sometimes triggered by early childhood television watching.

Because EVERY medicine is a toxin. Every filler to a medication is a toxin. One must weight the good with the bad. I didnt get my kids Gardisil or chicken pox. We NEVER get the flu vaccine. Its a balancing act of good outweighing bad.
Medicine is not a precise science. Its a guessing game and while I agree with you that we as parents need to make our own call, there are vaccines where the good far outweigh the bad. Polio is one example.
I dont necessarily agree that every medicine is a toxin or that it is merely guessing game but you are absolutely correct that the good (of vaccinations) often far outweighs the bad.
While some people think that childhood diseases like the measles and the mumps and chicken pox are completely harmless childhood diseases and something that everyone should get as part of growing up, the fact is that many children were left permanently scarred and even died or born with birth defects as the result of those diseases before vaccinations. My mother told me about some of her childhood friends contracting polio, spending the rest of their lives crippled or in iron lungs as she was preparing me for my polio shot as a child, explaining to me while the shot might hurt a bit, it would only hurt for a short time, and why it was well worth and important to for me to get it.
My older brother after catching the Mumps, contracted a rare but serious side effect of that disease meningitis and encephalitis. He very nearly died, was in a coma for a week, received Last Rites of the Catholic Church and the doctors told my parents that even if he recovered, hed most likely be brain damaged. Fortunately he, after several months in the hospital and intense therapy to learn to speak and walk again, eventually fully recovered. But you can be sure that my parents made sure that I got all my vaccinations. I also have an older cousin who nearly died from the measles when her fever spiked dangerously high and she went into convulsions and seizures. And chicken pox can come back as shingles, a very painful and debilitating condition.
My current employer offers free flu vaccines on a voluntary basis and Ive had no problem with them and am glad to get them. IMO Im relatively young and healthy and if I get the flu, at worse miss Ill a few days of work, be miserable for a few days and recover fully, but if contract the flu and come into contact with a vulnerable person, a very young or elderly person or a person with a compromised immune system and transmit the flu to them, that can be fatal to them
As far as Gardisil, my niece was very concerned about her teenage daughter getting that vaccine but decided that it was worth the risk. He daughter is a good girl and even now at 19 and in college, is still a virgin and not at all interested in premarital sex, wanting to save herself for the right guy and for marriage. She understood and still understands that Gardisil only protects her from the HPV virus and does not protect her from other sexually transmitted diseases. But what it does protect her from is that the chance that the good guy she eventually marries may not have always been so good. If he even once had sex with a woman carrying the HPV virus, he could transmit that to her and she could contract HPV and many, many years later get cervical cancer as a result. Again the overall good of getting that vaccination compared with the very small risk of a negative reaction made my niece decide, after much research and reflection and a conversation with her Parrish priest, decide to have her daughter vaccinated.

On the other hand, Amish do not watch television. No one wants to even look at that. LOL!!!!
The Amish also do not drive automobiles. Ergo, because the Amish have a somewhat lesser instance of Autism, it must be that Autism is caused by driving cars! Correlation vs. causation = fail.
OTHO, the Amish have because of their closed communities and close intermarriage have many children with rate and devastating genetic disorders, the so called "founder effect". Some of these Amish kids have severe mental retardation and a host of physical problems. And they didnt get it from watching TV but no one wants to even look at that.
Try again.

Proven false only if youre part of the problem and views doctors as gods and pretty pharm reps as telling the gospel. The sad truth is that many of them do just that. I run into folks all the time that are complaining about one malady after the other as they run from one doctor to another. Soon they're taking 10 or more prescription drugs each day, most of which are prescribed to counter the side effects of the previous drug(s).
If you are so bold as to ask them if they see any problem with all of the drugs, they look at you incredulously and spout, “My doctor wouldn't tell me to take it if it wasn't good for me, and the gubmint wouldn't let the drug companies sell these drugs if they were harmful....” It is blind faith in an establishment that people have been told are “on their side” and “know what's best for you” for decades. It is simply too frightening for most folks to question these foundational “truths” that have been a big part of undergirding their worldview for so many years. And of course, the PTB count on that level of gullibility and naiveté to further their goals, virtually unabated.

Yes, you heard right, vaccines from aborted children. Once again, for those of you from Rio Linda, vaccines are not made from aborted children; they do not contain the dead remains, the tissues of numerous aborted children. In fact it is not necessary for any abortion performed since or even up to today to add to those original fetal cell lines, obtained in the early 1960s. The viruses are indeed grown in those cell lines as some virus replications need a human cell growth medium in order to produce and replicate the inert virus that makes up some vaccines, at least until a viable alternative is found, which I hope will be found but in the meantime, there is no alternative for some, and they are used for just that, as a cellular grown medium. But understand that the vaccines are not made from and do not contain the tissues of numerous aborted children, if even any tissues or any DNA from the original two aborted children are in those vaccinations, which is very doubtful. And if you took the time to learn and understand what the effects of injecting unmatched human tissues directly into another person would cause (and its not Autism BTW) you would understand why any such vaccine would be fatal to nearly all who received it.
The cell lines in use for the last 30+ years where indeed and without question or dispute, obtained from aborted fetuses (yes, sad, tragic and immoral as to the reason the mothers aborted) but the two cell lines from those two fetuses aborted over 30 years ago have been replicated over and over again for over 30 years and those two human cell lines are the ones used for the replication of inert viruses used in some vaccinations. Out of something so bad and so wrong, at least something good has come from it. YMMV.
If you find a moral objection to having your kids vaccinated against Rubella, Mumps, Chicken Pox, etc.; fine, and more power to you thats your right. But then by all means, do the right thing and keep you and your kids away from all others, especially member of my family and pregnant women if your kids have Rubella and stay in complete isolation and deal with the devastating effects of those very preventable diseases within your own family and do us all a favor and not spread your moral diseases to others. And if your kid is bitten by a rabid animal and you find it morally objectionable to have your kid receive the rabies vaccine, by all means do so. And by all means get back to us and tell us how that worked out for you and your dead child. And if you think Polio is something youd have no problem with your kids contracting, go for it.

In your eagerness for a cheap “Gotcha!” you missed the point completely, not surprisingly.
The vaccine alarmists claim the Amish as support for their vaccine-autism link. The correlation between TV viewing (I never claimed causation) and autism is far more solid than any evidence for a link between autism and vaccines, but the vaccine alarmists won’t even look at it. Even when it’s staining them in the face with the Amish population.
Why?
Because they can’t sue anyone or blame anyone if it’s related to TV viewing habits, which is completely under their own control.
To: zzeeman
That’s exactly right. Those same people don’t realize what is happening to our Franken-food (”oh, but we can trust the FDA!”) or with the air (dropping aluminum in the skies to prevent fake global warming, “oh, but the EPA would tell us if it were unhealthy to breathe!”), not to mention all the pharms and junk in the water already.
To: Dr. Brian Kopp
In your eagerness for a cheap Gotcha! you missed the point completely, not surprisingly. Well you got me. And I stand corrected in that your posts seemed to be supporting the vaccination = autism claim. I see now that you are quite skeptical of those claims and good for you. However you need to do some more research into the claims of fetal DNA in vaccines being a cause for Autism as there is no solid scientific evidence to support that claim any more than bad mom, mercury or TV theories are definitive cause, or that vaccines contain any fetal DNA or even if they do, it would be in such miniscule and fragments amounts as to have a negligible effect. If that is proven not to be the case, I will stand corrected there as well.
But otherwise it would seem we are, well, mostly on the same page.
What bothers me is how so many are willing to jump on the band wagon that vaccinations are bad based on junk science and the claims of expert celebrities like Jenny McCarthy. Many of these same people willingly jump on the AGW bandwagon, the meat is bad bandwagon, the only good foods are organic foods bandwagon, cell phone towers cause cancer bandwagon, the Pharmaceutical Companies and Doctors are engaging in a vast conspiracy to kill us all bandwagon. I could also mention the Area 51 cover-up theories as part of this overall group too.
There is however a very clear link between parents choosing not to vaccinate their children along with a influx of illegal and medically unscreened aliens from third world countries and the rise in instances of once rare and potentially fatal childhood diseases that vaccinations had nearly all but eliminated in the US and other developed nations.
Again, it would seem we perhaps agree more than we disagree.

It’s tough alright. You can filter your water, try to grow as much as your own food as possible (and that mileage varies greatly by location and circumstance), but the assaults are relentless. I suspect that people would have had to begin waking up 30-40 years ago to prevent the mess that we have now; at this point, I’m not too optimistic...

I’d say that a large portion of the people that have commented on this thread are bloody ignorant, and haven’t a clue what they are talking about. How many of you people have ever even been around someone that is autistic? How many of you witnessed personally the regression of a perfectly normal child immediately after having an MMR injection? Say what you want, call me crazy, accuse me of being part of the tin foil hat brigade, I’m not bothered. I have personally seen it happen not once but twice.

I can understand your heartbreak and frustration over this whole issue (only as much as someone that hasn't had the same personal impacts as you have could). I really wish more folks would open their minds to the possibilities that gubmint, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies don't always have the public's best interests at the forefront. It seems that it is very easy for some to accept the fact gubmints, “scientists,” universities, et al are very willing to lie continuously about things like AGW, but are indignant at the proposition that they could be lying about something else such as mandatory vaccination programs.
I can only wish you and your family the best with your daily struggles; hopefully the real truth about this issue will emerge before countless other children are damaged needlessly. Stay strong FRiend.
