A highly invasive form of brown kelp native to Japan has spread throughout the San Francisco waterfront since it was discovered three years ago and could threaten native species and ecosystems if money and resources aren't put into stopping its spread, researchers say.

Isn't this just "undocumented" kelp and any efforts spent resisting it should be labeled as "racist" against all Japanese (or indeed, Asians as a whole!) agricultural products?

It’s only three years old? Shouldn’t it get amnesty?

You’re absolutely correct! It should also be eligible for farm subsidies.

Some leftist will try to make it into green fuel and call it K85 with a 700 million dollar subsidy to a company run by a Pelosi.

And, just coincidentally, we’ll have a chance to dramatically raise taxes come November. So Brown can threaten us with not only the loss of every police officer and teacher on the planet, but with being eaten by the great brown oozej if we don’t raise taxes now!

Yes, and Obama will want to invest billions into the next Solyndra to invent a “thing-a-ma-jig” that will be able to use this brown kelp as fuel or engineered food for Michelle Obama’s next US mandated diet for all.

No doubt caused by global warming, and, of course, Bush’s fault.

A highly invasive form of brown kelp native to Kenya is the real problem.

Wait! Isn't California Lawmakers masters of the environment?
They can control the weather and save the planet but slime has them running for another boogieman.
They surely need to create another tax and ban another food item to clear this problem up.
Maybe they can demand that tires not be made out of rubber by 2019 or something.

The only thing keeping it at bay was Barry Bonds' steroid-powered baseballs landing in McCovey Cove and, now that he's retired, it's hopeless.
