I've never seen E.T. (what? Stop looking at me that way!), and I hated the World According to Garp with a passion. Most of the films on the list, though, are favorites of mine to this day - '82 was quite a year for movies!

The movie version of Garp was as pretentious as the book.

never seen E.TMe either. Since I heard Speilberg "improved" it, it's unlikely that I ever will bother.

I've never seen E.T. LOL! The last time I went to the movies to see a movie was to see E.T. It was the easiest way I could think of to entertain my then boyfriend's 10 year old son while the BF was at work!
I also agree with you about Garp!

Sorry, but none of these movies impressed me much at all.

I’m surprised they don’t have Tootsie or Sophie’s Choice on the list since they were both big Oscar nominees.

Blade Runner is the class of the list. Road Warrior is a classic as is The Thing. Not enough props for The Thing. It was a great horror flick and it’s special effects were copied in horror movies for the next 15 years. The ending scene is a true classic.

That was an amazingly bad year for movies.
Khan was the only decent one on the list. Yes Phoebe Cates was hot but if one wants to see her totally naked, you could watch an old terrible movie named “Paradise”.

Even if you haven't seen E.T., you probably know the story. He comes to Earth and is feared by adults and loved by the children. He performs miracles and heals by his touch. The adults hunt him down and kill him. He resurrects and then ascends into the heavens to return home. I've heard that an entire religion was based on the movie. I'm looking forward to E.T. Returns.

ET sucked outside of the "It wasn't like that @#%@#breath!"
I liked Tron as a kid, but haven't seen it in ages. Road Warrior was good as was the original Conan.
