I've read that over and over and I need clarification. Vines is one of the assailants or is he one of the ones who was attacked? If the victims did the shooting, how could they be victims? I understood Christian and Phillips to be the victims. Christian didn't shoot anyone. He was dead at the scene.

If the shooter(s) were of average size, the size difference could be used as something that caused a heightened fear and increased justification for self-defense.
