....original B-24 named Heavenly Body flew for the 392nd Bomb Grp, 577th sqd back at the time, or era of the jacket...best I can tell, it was damaged in Mar of “45” landing but was salvaged (overshot runway) it left the group shortly after

actually were both wrong...it was a B-17 WITH THE 401ST bg..(THIS JACKET)...

different aircraft with same name..there was a B-24, a B-25, and a B17.....popular name

Thanks I didn’t know about the art.
By the way they didn’t just rename themselves, they switched from being the Army to being the Air Force.
When they were army, I think they lost 90,000 dead or so, I can see why they would want to get out of it.
