Football as it should be played.
If you can’t deal with 10 below with wind chill making it 25 below, stay home and let the hardcore enjoy themselves.

Good, that’s football weather. Dome should be outlawed.

What? This is going to be the consolation prize for losing the Olympic bid?
Some one should bring back that (instant classic) CNN black dude's incredulous “Chicago lost?” video.

2013 - New Orleans
2014 - New York (Jersey?)
2015 - Phoenix
Two years ago, Kansas City updated Arrowhead Stadium (Chiefs). One option on the table was the issue of a roof...we were told no roof = no superbowl in the future.
Well, the voters decided against a roof (which I agree with - play outside!)
But now, New York gets a superbowl without a roof?
And Chicago may be next?
I understand Kansas City isn’t the biggest city in the world, or a popular vacation hot spot...but neither are Jacksonville or Detroit.
...and now by some coincidence, Chicago gets a superbowl? With the smallest stadium in the NFL? Outdoors in a colder climate than Kansas City?

Otherwise, I have no problem with the SB being played in inclement weather.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel spoke Thursday about the possibility of Soldier Field hosting a Super Bowl.
Right After Lambeau Field hosts a Super Bowl!!
I bet the Chicago mob and Politicians (or are they the same?) would rig it that 'DA BEARS' win that SUPER BOWL!!
Green Bay has more of a right to host a super bowl than Chicago!! (taking off my cheesehead hat!)

They need a neutral site. Especially after giving it to NY. Now all the cold weather teams will want one.
Las Vegas would be perfect. I realize the NFL does not like the sports betting but Vegas is the perfect place

This will NEVER happen. Too much money involved. Too much tourism to ever have the Stupid Bowl in the north without a dome.
To: chopperman
I'm against this idea for one reason: in early February, Chicago could be socked in by an intense blizzard, which essentially shuts down the ENTIRE city and could make playing the game nearly unbearable (pun very intended here!) at outdoor Soldier field. That was why when Indianapolis hosted the Super Bowl this year, they put all the events within close walking distance of one another out of consideration that if there was a major snowstorm going through everyone could still get around without needing vehicular transportation.
