It's difficult to find quality entertainment on Netflix streaming. Here's three Tom Selleck movies that, in my opinion, qualify: Jesse Stone, Night Passage / Jesse Stone - Stone Cold / Jesse Stone - Death in Paradise. Great entertainment, no PC agenda.
Believable?
Tom Selleck IS Jesse Stone. Stone character created by the late, great mystery writer, Robert B. Parker. (also the creator of the Spencer character).
The newer JS movies are not based on the Parker books as there were only a few - unlike the Spencer books. So far the quality hasn’t dropped off IMO.
added to my instant queue. Thanks
She calls him. In fact I don’t recall Jesse ever calling Jenn. She can’t move on. He drinks to forget the past but she won’t let him.
Thanks. ;o)
Good grief - I checked and it didn’t look like ANY of these had gone through.
Sorry for the multiple postings.
I usually buy Selleck. Amazon has the first six Jesse Stones available here http://www.amazon.com/Collection-Remorse-Change-Passage-Paradise/dp/B003VIWSA8/ref=sr_1_9?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1337541725&sr=1-9
Innocents Lost is not one of the six, nor this new one.
“Ive become a late in life Robert Ryan fan.”
Ive become a late in life Robert Ryan, World War II vet, fan.
I couldn’t resist.
And Jesse Stone’s sidearm is a Colt M1911A1, just like Thomas Magnum carried.
Very cool .... I didn’t know that!
Of course, the all time best Sellick movie which is also on Netflix instant and worth three months SUBscription fees is:
MR BASEBALL!!!!!!!!
You need to read Stephen Hunter.
My advice is to avoid The Affair altogether. All small-town southerners are ignorant, unbathed hicks — unless they’re black; then they’re noble heroes, horribly oppressed by the evil white folk.
He even goes so far as to attribute Edmund’s Burke’s “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil ...” quotation to Martin Luther King. Guess that will make him more popular with his lib cocktail party buds and gals.
However, Commissioner Frank Reagan carries a .38 Special, aka a “Fitz Special”.
Is that Selleck’s character on the police show? If so, he would be required to carry an issue weapon, versus a personal one.
If you like Tom Selleck watch him in Ike: Countdown to D-Day which is also available on instant play on Netflix. It is about the 90 days leading up to D-day and Selleck makes a great Ike, he is even partially bald to add to the realism. I thought it was worth watching. Showed up the enormous ego that Montgomery had.
If a person likes the older movies and searches diligently you can find quite a few movies that are worth watching on the instant Play. Most new movies don't make it to streaming.
To those of you that want to watch Dark Shadows the first part, before Barnabas, are on six volumes(4 disks, 9 episode per disk) on disk. Starting with the first collection that Barnabas shows up in there are four collections( 9 episodes per collection) that are on Instant play, the rest of the collections you have to send for on disk(4 disks, 9 episodes per disk). For a while you couldn't get the disk but you can now.
Tom Selleck is 67. That is all.
I’ve been watching the history channel stuff and National Geographic.
