Nancy Sinatra Uses Twitter to Portray the Pain of Being Shut Out of Her Father's Last Hours
Twitter is a social phenomenon. In short, 140-word snippets, people make announcements, express opinions, answer questions and talk about their everyday existence for the world to see.
Then, every once in awhile, a series of Tweets takes on a life of it's own, allowing the writer to talk about a very personal experience and carry on a conversation with their friends or (in this case) fans, revealing a new dimension to what may or may not be an already known story. While it provides those friends and fans with the inside view on someone they admire, it also appears to be a cathartic experience for the writer.
That seems to be the case in a long series of Tweets on Monday afternoon by Nancy Sinatra on the 14th anniversary of her father, Frank Sinatra's, passing. At that time, Frank had been married to the former Barbara Marx for 21 years and it was well known that she had a contentious relationship with his three children, Nancy, Tina and Frank, Jr.
Nancy had also previously talked about how she and her siblings had not been able to say goodbye to their father through the actions of Barbara when he was on his deathbed. Earlier today, she Tweeted that "14 years ago today my father died and I was not given the chance to say goodbye. I will never forgive her for that. NEVER."
These are the Tweets that followed, an exchange with fans that almost seems like an interview. They are all in the original Twitter format (answer followed by the question that prompted it) and we have removed the ID of the person doing the questioning. It is an inside look into the heartbreak that Nancy felt and still feels today about those final hours. Exactly. Karma is too good for her. @xxxxxxxx "yep some things are just too unforgivable
Not possible. @xxxxxxxx "Forgive is not the right word it's forget.
Did then and continues to hurt us today. A horrible human being. @xxxxxxxx "Do you think that she meant to hurt you in this way?
He asked "where are my children?" and his children didn't know @xxxxxxxx "Frank would know you were there for him. He would understand
She is evil personified. @xxxxxxxx "Jealousy and greed is an evil thing.
Road manager was there. @xxxxxxxx "How did you find out tht he asked for all of you
Believe me he would understand this. @xxxxxxxx "do you think your father would want you to still be mad?
Because then obits couldn't say "he died with his wife by his side." @xxxxxxxx @xxxxxxxx "why weren't you able/allowed to say goodbye
I am a stepmother. 1st person I called when my husband was dying was his son. @xxxxxxxx "Step parents are devils
Sorry, friends, I didn't mean to take up so much of your Twitter time with this.
She tells AMOST the whole story. Well worth the read if u r a Frank fan. @xxxxxxxx "I read your sister's book a few years back
Yes, it's true. @xxxxxxxx "karma has never gotten her. I wish it would but She gets what she wants and probably always will.
I so not give a damn
It’s sad that she didn’t get to say goodbye to her Dad.
Those Boots Are Made for Whining
ARGH! Sorry...this “chance not to say goodbye” that people complain about...
Why don’t they appreciate the times they spent together?
“Its sad that she didnt get to say goodbye to her Dad.”
She’s feeling sorry for herself...another “all about poor me,” person.
Shes feeling sorry for herself...another all about poor me, person.
I agree but it’s still too bad she couldn’t say goodbye to her Dad.
I’ve read several books about this.
Marx appeared to be quite a b*tch.
Gotta be a one cold soul to not let them visit their father on his death bed. Shame on her!
I don’t Twitter so sorry for rambling——BUT It is so obvious how essential a loving mother and father are to the “happiness” and emotional health of children-—how evil divorce is-—always for the children—creates a cynical outlook on life and relationships and destroys family get-togethers for the most part. Depression and addictions are common among children in divorced families.
Destruction of family comes from Marx. The Cultural Marxists put out pornography and vulgarity in all media outlets and saturates our children with it—to destroy all relationships and create dysfunctions and addictions.
Society used to have to promote decency-—now they produce degeneracy—since the 70’s and after The Beats got rid of obscenity laws with Kinsey and Hugh Hefner.....and they promoted Deep Throat and mainstreamed porn and it was all downhill from there.
Dignity in men and women is eliminated—intentionally demeaned in most TV shows and media is the idea of motherhood and fatherhood (Recent Time cover). Now we see extremes normalized in both males and females—because of the androgyny being forced, so children can’t figure out Laws of Nature—gender confusion—men looking like women and women like men-—all for the radical egalitarianism that comes from a hatred of the nature of men and women. It is total denial of masculinity and femininity—a rejection of God the Designer.
If parents do not instill Virtue and character in their children, they will not have any, unless there is extreme intervention. Schools are designed to intentionally destroy Virtue, so even if parents do a decent job, the schools teach them the opposite “values”—get your kids out of public schools. (BK Eakman).
You can live a miserable life or a constructive, decent one-—the choices are yours-—but your children are vulnerable and have no choice. As Confucius even said thousands of years ago-—the duty of man is to raise their children to be decent citizens. It used to be understood that all parents would raise their children to be productive human beings. It reflected on the parents if they were no-good.
Now, we have given our kids to the State and they will destroy their souls on purpose. There is no God in Marx’s utopia.....everyone is a cog in a wheel devoid of all humanity and family.
I liked Frank Sinatra-—but he made some bad choices. Too bad. Get on with life-— Nancy needs to find God, so she can finally be comforted.
She has Twitter followers, maybe that's a little odd, but she does. She was candid when inquired of and displayed anger over family issues. It's good to be candid and it's common to find anger in families. Maybe you love her and you are jealous she didn't call you personally. Maybe not, but.. maybe! |
Funniest thing I’ve read all day!!!!
I was just thinking the other day how, before abortion was legalized by men in black robes, that every single baby announcement was wonderful news.
There wasn't one person who said, "Oh no, what are you going to do?. Every pregnancy was good news and the baby was welcomed by all.
I guess young people today can't even grasp how different it was back then.
I told Uncle Slayton his comment was “the funniest thing I’d read all day”, and it is; however, what you’ve written is dead on the mark. Been there, done that and have the tee shirt plus I have to deal with this almost every day. Beverly Eakman is a gem as well. Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated.
Thanks;
Your post is excellent! The Holy Scriptures teach us to flee youthful lusts, and to pursue Godliness. (2 Timothy 2:22 and 2 Timothy 6:11)
Sad but true, we usually do the opposite! The following two verses seem to awake my spirit and soul:
“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged, and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” (Proverbs 16:6)
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (Romans 1:21)
She's also an idiot lib who equates criticism of Obama with racism. I scarcely logon to her website because it is so full of idiot leftists.
We are just hearing one side of this.
The side of a bitter, no talent daughter.
If her name had been Nancy Smith she would have never gotten a job in Hollywood.
