A baby squirrel is finding a home of sorts alongside a cat and her kittens in Michigan.
Eight-year-old Bailee Schultz heard the squirrel whimpering a few weeks ago in a wooded area of his grandparents' property in Bay County's Bangor Township. Stephanie Box tells MLive.com (http://bit.ly/IX2Oqj ) Bailee brought her to the squirrel, which was under a nest.
Box says she placed the squirrel they call Bushytail with her cat, Oreo, who recently gave birth to five kittens. The next day, Box says the squirrel was nursing side-by-side with the kittens. They've also seen Oreo lick Bushytail.

Actually they are extraterrestrials. Those nests that they make way up in the tree in winter are portals for them to do to the mother ship. Think about it. They go in, but do you ever see one come out?
I agree with the ET slant - Red Squirrels are the evil ringleaders.
The squirels around us have been feasting on the brood 1 17 year cicadas that came out this year. I think they eat everything but the red eyes and wings judging by the detritus that falls out of the trees.
Freegards
And pumpkin seeds and *almonds*.
The almonds are especially needful as they supply lots of calcium, magnesium, manganese and oodles of other vitamins and minerals.
Squiggy [the one I had to keep due to her birth defects] always got a serving of almonds every day no matter what else I fed her.
Yup.
That’s a pretty good photo shop job. Bundle of fluff they are!
Mine as well! It's that "yek yek yek" at a constant flow. Their faces scruntch up as they do "that weird noise" thing!
Huh?
DNR Dept of Natural Resources,,,fish and game wardens etc,,,Dont like people taking care of wild animals
The cicada cycle fascinates me.
