So far, it's not clear if the death is related to the rapper's battle with cancer.
Russell Simmons' website GlobalGrind.com first reported the death. We have spoken to people independently connected to the rapper who also say he is dead.
Yauch co-founded Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, Mix Master Mike, and Ad Roc. The group has won multiple Grammys.
Yauch became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.
Yauch is survived by his wife and daughter. He was 47.
The Beastie Boys have always been bigtime Libs.
But, who cares at this point?
A death of a talented man is sad none-the-less...
Thanks for the ping... Some sad news. Prayers for Mr. Yauch’s wife and daughter, as well as the other Boys, friends and loved ones.
Where'd everyone go?
Sigh...
Again, RIP Adam.
Well I’ll add one.
RIP.
I enjoyed their goofy music.
RIP.
Actually, I'm pretty sure Motley Crue's bassist, Nikki Sixx, did overdose on drugs and was technically dead for a few minutes. He was resuscitated and managed to get out of the hospital fairly quickly - of course he immediately went back to shooting heroin again.
Still, Motley Crue and lot of those 80's glam metal bands are still touring and making music. Many of them have held up remarkably well and are still huge concert draws.
Wow! I’ve been on a buying binge of some of my favorite 80’s albums and just purchased “Liscence to Ill!” It is a great album all the way thru!
“Hair metal isnt dead, but it has apparently gone bald...”
I just did some buying of 80’s metal CD’s for my 21 year old SIL. He loves that stuff....what I found interesting is that Poisen’s stuff was priced WAY over the market for other bands. I passed on them, but they must have some hard core cult following!
OK, sorry for hijacking the thread...
