You might want to take away the chain saws as well.

When I was in Australia a few years back, I was amazed at how many people were beaten to death by golf clubs, cricket bats, chairs, and pipes.

As we all know (but Liberals don't) -- Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Whata crazy story.

First peopledo not keep chainsaws lying within easy reach in the house, so this guy didn’t just grab the chain saw for self-defense, It was a deliberate act to go an get it.
Then at the end they are saying that now people in Australia should be licensed to operate a chain saw. Give me a break.

Instruction in the use of a chain saw is certainly not a bad idea, many people get injured by them because they do not know how to use them properly, but a license to operate one? That is a bit ludicrous.

Ludicrous is when they make you store the Bar & Chain in one safe, the motor in another and the gasoline in a gas safe under lock and key in your house.

The article says the guy with the chain saw didn't grab it in an act of self-defense, he took it with him when he went to the swordsman's home.

Even in Florida or a Castle Doctrine state, I think the swordsman could claim self-defense but the guy with the chain saw couldn't.

Cut my own heating wood for 10 years, so am intimately familiar with chainsaws. Would not be my first choice as a weapon.
