Pine trees in the South do this every spring. Some years are very bad and clouds of pollen look like smoke from fires - every thing is coated with yellow-green pollen. I'm in Texas, and have seen that green pollen dusting in some years, but I've never seen it cloud the sky. Moscow must have one helluva pine forest surrounding it.

The pollen defiantly clouded sky in Mississippi that year. At fist I thought a forest was on fire.
