One year after you graduate from college, you are a completely different person. There's no fighting it. The baby you were on your first birthday had more in common with the version of you that was chilling in the womb a year earlier. We asked you to show us some of the things college students will be most surprised to find missing from the real world when they get there. The winner is below, but first the runners up ...

I didn’t understand some of those.
Maybe I’m stoopid today.
Ask a college student to explain them.
Pry the bong away from his face first.
I’ve heard that a number of liberal leaning college students become more conservative, when they go to work, and look at their paychecks.
When these young people, who have lived sheltered lives in college, get into the world, and see how much in taxes are withheld from their pay, they get a reality check. Then they start thinking more about where their tax money is going, and whether government is making good use of the tax money they are paying in each payday.
Some young people even start thinking that the level of taxation is too high, for the alleged benefits government provides. Some young people think it’s unfair, that they get a job which pays “X” amount per year, but their actual take home pay is a lot less than that.
Being in the working world, as compared to the college campus, provides a stark contrast to young people.
Very true. And some join Occupy Wall Street and live the jokes in this article.
LOL, those are good.
I love the ‘interpretative dance will make Dick Cheney cry’. one.
My favorite too. Especially since Dick Cheney has never cried. ;^)
everything they were taught was a lie....
but when do they start suspecting that they were taught wrong on social issues?
The winning one won’t come up for me does anyone know what it is?
Once graduated and living in the 'real world', things quickly change. Responsibility is suddenly more than getting a paper in on time and screwing up your responsibility can cost you a job or, at least, a promotion or raise you were counting on. In the real world, everyone isn't equal and everything is not always 'fair'. You don't get an award just for showing up at work. Few people care what you think or your ideas for 'world peace'. You quickly learn that not everyone thinks Obama is 'brilliant' and his critics 'racists'. This can be disturbing.
All this is a lot to process for some naive college graduates who thought they were the center of the universe. I refer to this period of adjustment as one of 'character building'. It will either make you a wimp seeking a free ride paid for by others or a self-sufficient person capable of dealing with the real world. Sadly, too many grads fall into the former category.
I like #5 the best
*chuckle* Reflects the mindset, doesn’t it?
I’m not sure any of these came from individuals who have actually supported themselves out in the real world. Still too self absorbed.
As bad as the job situation has been, we’ve had to fire two new hires, recent grads, one because she just absolutely could not stop texting to the detriment of the job she was being paid to perform, and the other because he just couldn’t stay awake.
Isn’t that pitiful?
And most of them have found the Comments section of the article.
“It’s easy to be a liberal in college.”
That’s because other liberals don’t expect you to think very hard. All you have to do is agree with the television.

A Few Things *Conservative* College Students Suspect About the Real World:
1) The US military can and will kick anyone’s ass, anytime, anywhere. Well, maybe not in Africa, because nobody wants to go to [expletive deleted] Africa.
2) I wonder how many of my fellow students believe that useless Marxist crapola taught by these professors?
3) What do you mean concealed carry is against the rules on campus? What leftist idiot thought that one up? I’ve been..., uh, well, gee, I hope they legalize that soon.
4) The more I learn about leftist Democrats, the more I think they need their own homeland, in Africa.
