How is it that these kids are always born in India?
Because in the US, the mothers get more ultrasounds and other testing, and if anything goes wrong the babies are usually aborted, unless the parents are very strong Christians. Same reason you don't see as many Down's Syndrome children anymore. I know the article says that the extra limbs weren't visualized during the mom's ultrasounds, but that says something about the quality of the imaging equipment and techs in India. Here, the prenatal care would be more aggressive, the ultrasounds are now of wonderful quality, the training of the techs is pretty good, and the abnormalities would be noticed.
That was my first thought as well. It always seems to be babies in India.
